I've known of this song for a long time but i never payed attention to it. Today, i was testing out a new sound system on my TV so I just grabbed the first AILD song that popped up. And it happened to be this one. So, I'm listening, starting to like it, and then really started to like the sound. I was thinking "Man, this has a really cool early 80's vibe. It sounds like Judas Priest if Jordan Mancino was drumming for them". So, I liked it enough to share to to my FB. I jump on youtube on my phone and searched "Electric Eye" and the first song that popped up was Electric Eye by Judas Priest lolol. I had no idea this was cover but I totally called it with the sound hahaha. It's like I'm the Metal Whisperer

These lines total for 20 seconds of a 4:20 song, so yes it's a small fraction. Do you not hear the singing that starts at 1:28 and continues for almost the entire rest of the song? There are screams/growls layered over it but it's sang just as well.

I actually read the lyrics to this first, long before I heard either version of the song. I must say, I like this better than Priest's original, since theirs was surprisingly quiet and low-energy for such a protest message (I expected something more passionate, like Muse.) This one fits the bill better, but growls are still random and unneeded, and the video is horrific. Really hope someone else does covers this with a cyberpunk-style video, and has a more sinister AI-like tone, so that it feels like the actual satellite's voice.
