Many businesses have had record sales and profit over the past year, yet their employees have got little to no pay raise. Take for example grocery stores. People are just getting poorer as time goes. I was previously self-employed. Those self-employment taxes are a killer. I wanted a weekend job where I could do something totally different so it didn’t feel like my work week never ended. So I took a job at a big box retailer. They worked with my schedule and I love it! I have a supervisor who makes all the tough decisions. I show up and work my shift, then leave. My employer pays the taxes and they give me extra benefits I hadn’t considered….like 20% off merch, COVID sick pay, plus plus.

I tried doing this, it became extremely stressful trying to navigate between two calendars and meetings, having to do two 1x1 templates weekly, have two onenotes going and keeping up with the work. Was fun while it lasted ended up staying with the job i enjoy more!

Companies demand disclosure, non-competes, which basically bar you from working in your own as well as related industries are super common and companies demand all 40 weekly hours be given to them, while not providing sufficient income. I’m a 65 year old man, and will have to work until I can’t. I work two jobs (have so for 9 years now), both a full-time day job, and I teach a part-time welding class one evening a week during the school year at a local vo-tech school. It pays well. I also do a periodic third side gig by burning up PTO from my day job for an HVAC/plumber guy in my church. Pays well too, but it’s definitely a younger man’s gig. Oddly enough, he can’t find a young guy interested in learning a trade and taking over his long established and profitable business . I get bent over at tax time. I’m not married, claim zero dependents, and have extra $ withheld. Disincentives trying to better oneself, but it is what it is.

As someone who has tried to look themselves several times and who only survived after God literally saved my life, when even quacks and doctors had given up on me, the reality is that committing suicide is not enduring to the end (Matthew 24:13). It is not abiding in Christ (John 15:1-6). It is not continuing in His goodness (Romans 11:22). It is not holding fast the word (1 Corinthians 15:2). It is definitely being moved away from the hope of the gospel (Colossians 1:23). It is not holding fast the confidence and the rejoicing of the hope firm to the end (Hebrews 3:6). It is not holding the beginning of our confidence steadfast to the end (Hebrews 3:14). It is refusing and turning away from Him who speaks from heaven (Hebrews 12:25). And, it is not overcoming the world (1 John 5:4), but rather being overcome by the world and the devil (1 Peter 5:8). That doesn't happen to those "born of God." We know that whoever is born of God does not sin; but he who has been born of God keeps himself, and the wicked one does not touch him. (1 John 5:18). Typical suicidal people today are those who have no hope, and they are thus not in Christ (Ephesians 2:12; 1 Peter 1:3; 3:15), or they have been moved away from the hope of the gospel and are thus lost (Colossians 1:21-23). Those with deranged minds, or who "might have a mental breakdown," are those who do not have a sound mind and are therefore not in Christ (Isaiah 26:3; 2 Timothy 1:7). These people will end up in hell if they die in such a state. Such people are not saved. On the cross and in His death, Jesus did not lose or forsake hope in God nor rebel against Him as those who commit suicide today do. Moreover, no man could or can do what Christ did, lay His life down of Himself (John 10:18; Ecclesiastes 8:8 “No one has power over the spirit to retain the spirit”). He also was murdered by men (Acts 7:52). Paul says, if indeed you continue in the faith, grounded and steadfast, and are not moved away from the hope of the gospel which you heard, . . . (Colossians 1:23). Jesus said, he who endures to the end shall be saved (Matthew 24:13). God does not promise salvation to those who forsake Him (e.g. 1 Chronicles 28:9; John 15:1-6; Hebrews 10:26-31). Paul warns, Therefore consider the goodness and severity of God: on those who fell, severity; but toward you, goodness, if you continue in His goodness. Otherwise you also will be cut off. (Rom 11:22 NKJ) “Mental Illness” (as in the realm we are talking, suicide, self-destructive behavior) is a symptom of a “debased mind” (Romans 1:28). When someone is so utterly given over to wickedness, hopelessness, and rejection of Christ that they kill themselves (as masochistic behavior is noted as demonic in Scripture, Mark 5:2-5; Ephesians 5:29 “no one ever hated his own flesh”), such behavior reveals there is no faith in Christ. God has made Himself very clear: “the unrighteous will not inherit the kingdom of God” (1 Corinthians 6:9-10), the “unbelieving” go to the lake of fire (Revelation 21:8). The Bible is not a lie.

That's great. How much time do you spend on each job? Because I have only 1 job, no side hustle, and I still have no time to do anything. And I work remote, no need to go to/from office. I can't imagine people who have to go to an office and they lose probably more than one hour only with that.

@@eugenb9017 I agree with Sean. You can’t rely on one source of income. I have 2 jobs. I Teach first aid 20 hours a week and work 20-30 hours at the Hospital. I’m also on 2-3 other companies books as a casual. My wife works full time as well. We chose this lifestyle because it allows us to toss an employer in the bin (literally in secs-with 1 phone call) if they start giving us any lip or start pulling the BS e.g. toxic workplace, wage theft, placed you on a PIP, nepotism etc. We also invest our money in term deposits at 4.2% to provide additional income. Also I’m constantly interviewing all year round. It’s true many job interviews I’ve been on (some potential employers) may like this setup (you having 2-3 jobs) and will instantly reject you. But trust me it’s totally worth it. You will eventually will come across cool employers who don’t mind this setup. It scared my current boss when he saw the amount of email of job offers of 50-60k being sent to me every week. I hope this helps.

I do the grocery shopping. I noticed all the increases in pricing. Myjob requires me to be on-site as "essential personnel" - I also noticed how people as a whole lost any driving skills or etiquette they once had. My job recently tossed me what would have been a "sizeable raise" had it happened in 2018 or 2019. It will not cover our increase in Healthcare premiums. My 2nd job was sidelined for the Pandemic. Financially, we still haven't recovered. Your videos have helped me navigate applying for a different 2nd job, or potential second full-time job. However, it seems I get 2 interviews into the process and it's radio silence. My question is... "should you mention you will need a second job during the recruiting process if they can't pay you the rate you are asking?"

In my experience in fire and rescue, claiming you have other obligations (2nd jobs) implies that commitment to the first one will suffer and they'll look towards another, more dedicated candidate. It's best to lie about a second job until you get the primary one and work around it haha

I seriously don't know what else I could do for a side-hustle but I can't afford your course 😅. I know a lot of people always point to food delivery, but I have multiple reasons why that would be a bad choice for me. One, I'm not great with navigation and that's with GPS telling me where to go. I still often drive past my turn when going somewhere new. I just got another car this year and I have a car insurance discount for not driving a lot, plus I'm scared of it being wrecked (my last two vehicles were in accidents, one of them totaled, though neither was with me driving. But still, it's a big expense to have to yet again get another car). And lastly, I don't see very well at night and at this time, it's dark before I even get off work at 5PM. I can drive at night, but I prefer to minimize it, unless I'm going to familiar spots that I know like the back of my hand. I don't feel knowledgable enough to sell any type of skills as well. It almost sucks to work 8 to 5, because any other type of job is really hard to accomodate with those hours...unless I'm alright with also giving up my weekends and working 7 days a week, and I'm not. I've not had a M-F job since my brief stint with fast food at 19, I really don't want to go back to working weekends. Or at least, not all day on my weekends. I really just need a little bit of a raise at work and I'd be good to go.

Someone who was a teenager just just 3 years ago, now it's becoming an adult and wants to move, probably he/she was living with the parents. And people live longer, so houses occupied by elderly people are not becoming available again.

The shortage of housing is because the cost of a house is getting out of reach. To get one that will pass a mortgage inspection is expensive and then the taxes and insurance are reflecting the increases and then rates on top are turning the mortgage out of reach. It's more affordable to get an expensive apartment, with lower utility bills and get a room mate.

Job market is pretty bad. But also companies are extremely greedy as hell. I work 2 jobs myself. My main one has me working 12 plus hour days. We are seriously under paid. We should be at 25 for the work we do. We are at 20. We are being short by 1500 to 2000 a month. The company also wants us to do mandatory training, and not pay for it. They also wont reimburse for the training fee. Im saving all information with all the shady stuff they are doing. So when they get taken to the labor board. Ill submit all the stuff they done to rack up more charges. They want use to buy specific items for work. Wont reimburse as well. Its been a hot mess ever since the lockdowns. I put in around 55-60 per week to barely bring in 900.

For the last 12 years, I am tutoring school and college age kids as a sidekick; which proved to be fun and great mental fitness tool, but, giving this work 20 hours a week, I was getting marginal financial gains (being taxed at the tax bracket my main job defines) at the expense of time with my family. For crying out loud, I did not always have time to help my own kids with their homework! In tough times, one does what he must; but, as one priest said to me, "I have taken confessions of many people on their deathbed, and none lamented they worked too few hours."

I don't buy that. I've been applying like crazy over the past couple years and on all my applications I list my primary source of income is gig work like delivering food for Doordash and driving people around for Lyft and Uber. I'm not getting any call backs. I don't think these employers want to hire anybody with a second source of income because they know if they irritate us too much we can just up and quit because we have other options. Employers don't like that. They're looking for desperate people.

My situation though is I applied for govt job in March and now I'm going through tests and interviews for it. I have a steady job but it is high stress and they fire people every month

I work four remote jobs as a data analyst and I'll tell you right now that it's helped me learn so much faster. It definitely takes a whole lot of dedication and effort to get started and go beyond the basics though. Once you learn it, you're golden. I'm at $400k+ at the age of 25 and about to move from Boulder, CO to Fort Collins, CO where shit's so much cheaper. I'm about to pay off my starter home in three years or so. If you're on this channel, chances are you're ready to put in the effort to further your career so you're probably ready. Just don't jump from one to four. Go one job at a time.

I have a healthcare data analytics resume, a big tech resume, a retail one, a Software Engineering one, a Data Analytics one, etc. I phrase them accordingly. I once accidentally talked about my retail data analytics experience and the wrong jobs in an interview with a healthcare company. I got rejected anyways and the hiring manager didn't exactly approve of my job hopping history🤣🤣🤣.
