The Great Depression was always so important to me, still one of my all time favourite albums. Always been interested in music production and it's so cool to hear more about how it was made. Loving these videos

not a question but I just wanna say I love all the rarities so much! Balloons really hit hard when I listened to it and the stigma and the hurt the hope were amazing as always!

It's such a relief when they confirmed that the "Say goodbye, say goodnight" was indeed a thing in between their songs

I'm so glad The Truth I'll Never Tell made the record! It's one of my favourites from the album, I've always deeply resonated with the lyrics, and it's crazy to think it nearly got cut!

Im loving this album, its just fantastic! As a lot of songs remind me of "okay" or "Never Happy, Ever After" which are my two favorite albums, and you can see and feel the transition from these songs to "The Great Depression" and even to "I Went To Hell and Back". I cant wait to see what you guys do in the future, as you guys are my favorite band of all time and have done so much for me just from listening to your music.

one of the 200 people that downloaded those songs here! its really nice to see them on streaming services now so i don't have to go into my notes app every time i want to listen to them and can add them to playlists! - its so nice to think about how much of my life i've listened to you guys for, when i first started listening i was going straight from GCSE revision sessions to shows and now i have a politics degree! but one thing that hasn't changed in all that time is how much i look forward to slam dunk festival :)

The Great Depression has warmed up to me ever since I first heard it. I will be happy to admit I wanted to write it off as another emo like album just cause. It’s honestly become one of my favorite albums recently especially when there’s been real life events that make those songs hit hard. I can feel the passion behind every song on that record and it’s one I can’t stop recommending to others. I think it’s y’all’s strongest and most earnest work. The whole thing feels cohesive and these songs that didn’t or had a chance to be on The Great Depression are, in my opinion, just as good! Cheers to being back together!

The Great Depression has gotten me through so many hard times in my life and was my intro into the emo scene. It is definitely my favorite album of all time and no album has ever come close in my eyes due to the story of the album and the lyrics being so multifaceted. So stoked to be able to get more demos from it and hopefully I’ll get to see a concert! Thanks for putting in all the hard work on the album and I can’t wait for what’s next

no questions for the time being but i do have some lil anecdotes about the demos to share w the class. first of all balloons is maybe one of my fav aii songs Of All Time i love her so bad. i also think that sinking down being the first new(ish) song we’ve heard post hiatus is so so so special i was in tears before the first verse even ended at “so sing to me cause i can’t stand the silence.” and as much as the “heart so cold within me” line in the final cut of thth means to me i will never stop being obsessed with those high harmonies in the bully they are so so so pretty they live rent free in my head. huge love to y’all as always, i’ve said this 600 times at this point but it’s so nice to hear from y’all again 🖤🖤🖤

Man, I love you guys so much🥹🖤 I remember downloading Balloons and Sinking Down, when they got released to us in The Poet’s Society. I listened to them nonstop! (thank you for mentioning and remembering us😭) And I was so sad, because my old devices died not too long ago and the songs were stuck on there. I couldn’t get them to my new devices☹️ So I was incredibly excited to be able to listen to these regularly again🙏🏻 I love hearing you guys talk about stuff behind the scenes a bit more, and a little bit of what goes into your process! And honestly, I love just listening to you guys talk in general😅👌🏻 Sitting here in the break room at work, my headphones on, smiling so much😆 You guys are my comfort people. It’s not often people see me with a genuinely uncontrollable smile, but it’s inevitable when see/hear/talk with you guys. You’re my happy place, and I’m so so happy to see you guys again🥰

I came from twitter this isn’t really a question more so a statement but I just wanted to say I’ve been listening to yall since I was sixteen and your music has gotten me through a lot of tough times dealing with my anxiety/depression and at the time, my home life. I never got to go to one of your shows before due to how bad my anxiety was and also the situation I was living in at the time, but I would listen to your music allll the time. I’m glad yall are back and I can’t wait to see yall in concert one day ❤ btw Balloons is a BOP and I can't wait to hear whatever music y'all put out in the future

Feel honoured to be one of the 200 people to hear these songs back in the day and so glad everyone else gets to enjoy them now! I think sinking down is still my favourite although I'm so excited for blenheim place and two track to be on spotify! Have they been rerecorded for the b side album or is it the original recordings?
@asitisofficial4 ай бұрын
No we kept the original recordings. Wanted to keep their scrappy charm. Don’t think those songs work as well super polished. Their charm is in their naivety 🖤

Was there ever meant to be a fourth video for TGD for acceptance? I remember the first three parts had one but we never got a part 4
@asitisofficial4 ай бұрын
Yes there was and i wish i had a more interesting answer than it simply came down to budget (the other three were $$$) and we had to film the fourth on the road which is The Fire, The Dark!

@@asitisofficial totally understandable. Was the there like a loose plot and which song was it going to be? Would love to hear all your guys’ planned music video ideas one day

Damn. If I’d have realised at the time (as a stupid teenager) that As It Is was coming to an end (which makes sense when you say it), I’d have been crying. And screaming to not let you do it. Like… damn.

Been a long time fan of the band and Patty's channel. Favorite cover he ever did was Saturday. Please tell me Map and Compass is actually recorded on this. I don't mean the original acoustic format. I've always wanted to hear a electric version.

any tips on getting into writing music?
@HollowRick4 ай бұрын
Just write anything you might think its terrible but you've wrote something then just keep tweaking it Then write some more and other time you'll get better :)
@asitisofficial4 ай бұрын
Honestly. If you are just starting out. Cover as many songs as you can. Learn how songs you like are written and the structure and then start simple by just writing a new melody over the chords, eventually you’ll develop your own style from a fusion of your influences 🖤

if you were to record the great depression today would anything change tracklisting wise order/songs
@asitisofficial4 ай бұрын
I honestly wouldn’t change anything about that record. Other than maybe when it came out. We were a bit too early for the 20’s emo revival and it maybe didn’t land with a lot of people at the time that now would probably love that record.
