Much as I admire these veterans for standing up for their fellow citizens, it's sad that our country is so militarized that it's required, and so callous that abuse of ordinary people carries no weight.
@Yikum248 жыл бұрын
It seems only a threat to the military industrial complex grabs attention of the executive branch at this point. Veterans have demonstrated they have some real power here.
@joeschmo26938 жыл бұрын
Yikum24 It's good to see them on the right, er, correct, side of this. The most active, influential veterans groups - the VFW and the American Legion - have generally been aligned with reactionary and rightist causes.

For clarification, it was my understanding that Michael Wood, Jr. was also instrumental in mobilizing the U.S. Veterans. I have been watching/hearing reports and his name hasn't been mentioned lately.
@GreyGeneral8 жыл бұрын
If you watch his interview on The Jimmy Dore Show, Micheal himself explained that he and Wes started taking a backseat so that they weren't the focus. So it's at least semi-intentional.

Thank you for this report, beautiful interview and the veterans for standing up ! Sadly, it does not look like this fight is at all over. The coverage and support are needed more than ever. It seems the townspeople and oil company there are finding other,new ways of harassing the vets and water protectors and the pipeline company has apparently said they will not honor the permit refusal and they will go forward. Please keep supporting!

The decision to deny the permit is an encouraging sign. Let's hope it's not just a tactical retreat, to be followed by a second onslaught after the strength of the resistance is perceived to have weakened. I'm glad to hear the Protectors have decided to stay on until it's clear that the DAPL folks have really been stopped.

Amy, this is the very 1st and only time I have ever agreed with you on a controversial subject. I am glad the Sioux Tribe had taken my advice and others as well perhaps, and asked War Veterans for their support to block the pipeline to keep water safe.

Army [DOD] saying one thing and (as non-military citizens will see for themselves in a bit) doing another - is just one more example of their leadership's callous disregard and betrayal of trust - both to active duty members and veterans. It is the underlying factor which makes PTSD so difficult to resolve.

You will have lots of research to do. I just started putting the puzzle together. If you are willing to dig for a couple weeks you will sift out the good true story.

Not specific to Standing Rock, but the best background work on modern Sioux conflict with western authorities is "In the Spirit of Crazy Horse" which is a detailed analysis of the Peltier era activity. Also, see the documentary "Incident at Oglala" on the same topic.

'Windtalkers', the cinematic roman a clef re the Navajo Code talkers, provides evidence of the original One Language (Gen. 11:1). When the conspiracy to build a tower at Babel, high enough to avoid annihilation via inundation became a construction-project reality, the crowd that gathered (like every subsequent construction-project, attracting curious spectators) was struck, along w/the tower workers, by Divine sabotage: the multiplexing confusion of the One Language, the provenance of the word 'babble'. The proof of that confusion is laid out in the surviving record of the original One Written Language, i.e., Sumerian. Prior to Babel, the Sumerian merchants dominated MedSea trade and that status is scattered around their multitude of ports of call in the clay tablets that were business documents. Post-Babel, modern historians, in violation of Occam's Razor, chose the least likely reason for the sudden change in those records: the Sumerians just disappeared w/o a trace. Change? The biz docs, formerly shown in the distinctive Sumerian writing stylus impressions, suddenly appeared as side-by-side dualities in Sumerian and the brand new Carian writing, both having the same meaning on each such dual record. Modern historian hostility to Scriptures as actual history was the culprit for the strict avoidance of applying the Babel Effect, that is, the Sumerians didn't vanish, they no longer spoke or wrote in Sumerian. However, just as speakers of the One Language were divinely rewired linguistically, they had to reconfigure the previous written exemplars, as was the case of the Sumerian/Carian duality. The Carian speakers, while still confused w/regard to the verbalization of the One Language, could, nevertheless, visually convert Sumerian text to Carian text. That problem persisted for many decades, per the surviving side-by-sides. The unbreakable 'code' of the Navajo Codetalkers was ordinary Navajo w/the slight alteration of using Navajo words as military terms. The Japanese codebreakers were the best; however, due the still-existing Babel confusion re verbalization of the One Language, the Navajo 'code' was never broken, i.e., Navajo is the original One Language. The Navajo migrated away from Shinar BEFORE Babel, as did other Native American tribes, and, thus, were not rewired linguistically.
