Ok sir I see your pain is deep and I pray you find healing from whatever trauma you hold I do not wish to defeat my original message by being disrespectful in turn so. I will instead ask why you have chosen this video about a kind act of human beings to speak out about your anger and if you actually watched the video I'm not here to change your opinion about anything I only wished to honor the men and women in standing rock who were once deployed in a war they didn't wage or request I'm not excusing the cruel or unjust action of any individual soldier that will be their burden and is between them and their creator (or the courts if my country is not completely lost)

Im a retired combat veteran ("OIF/OEF") who supports %100 the Water Protectors movement. I am also a decolonization advocate and activist for Puerto Rico's colonial status (and resident on the island). It makes me proud to see that a lot of veterans (like myself) are also backing the indigenous peoples of North America and their right to protect our natural resources from federal, corporative, and imperial tyranny. I would be glad to physically be there with them fighting against the systematic white supremasist, oligarchic, and fascist ideals, that govern the federal government and statian society.

As a disabled veteran this gives me so much hope. Thank you guys and girls who signed up to do this. If I wasn't disabled I would definitely be there too. To connect the dots of this to raising your right hand and pledging to protect agains all enemies foreign and domestic, this is also how a lot of us felt about the veteran who retaliated against the cops after two black men were gunned down virtually back to back. Maybe what the shooter did was not the right course of action but when you continue to see the gross injustice time after time after time against your own people right here at home something clicks. They send you all the way overseas to kill people who never did a thing to you personally and yet you watch folks attacking your own people and you are suppose to somehow sit on the fact that you were trained to protect against both foreign and domestic enemies. Money has gotten in the way of sound judgment for our leaders. They are killing the planet, killing the people in the planet and expecting us to sit down quietly and just take it. I am grateful that these brave people of standing rock refuse to do so and that the veterans who raised their right hand to give that oath are backing them. Thank you.

The veterans did get the struggle on international news: On the RTL4 (19.30) news today in the Netherlands, the protest was mentioned. That was the second time this week, and the second time in total since the protests started. So attention is spreading, awareness is spreading. And that's excellent.

Zijn er ook Nederlanders onderweg om de Native Americans te steunen? Want dat zou helemaal geweldig nieuws zijn.
@Nyrata8 жыл бұрын

The Water Protectors and yourselves are true heroes. I never understood why a person would feel a sense of duty to a presiding authority, but a sense of duty to the people... that I can get behind. I wish there were a way to offer a golden parachute to the officers who resign. It would be an awesome gesture, a show of solidarity with compassionate police, and an interesting contrast to the usual recipients of such generosity.

Amen Michael. I am a former member of the U.S. Air Force and a big supporter of TYT, I agree when you say that we fight those foreign war's for interest of very selfish and cowardly people on our government; I already have been able to see the intentions of those in Washington D.C. and sadly some personnel in our military are to blind/ stubborn to see we are not working for the interest of American citizens, wish that co-workers knew they have the power to demand, instead of just hearing everywhere: "Well is the U.S government, they can do whatever the hell they want" or " Well we are America, and we need to show the world who is the boss". That only reminds me of that arrogance which was the main cause of the fall of many empires in our History. I swear to protect the American people interest and I will stand for what I believe, even if that means they do not consider me one of the heard, even if it cost me my Air Force career. After all, in the book " The Alchemist ", I do not want to be part of the herd, sheep only belong because they are complacent as long they get food and water. A Young Turk today, tomorrow, and future.
