@@HeaDBoneD just play on area 52.. its the best way to learn all the different things, pick whatever skills you want, make any build your heart desires.. elune is a gamble.. when you level you get a random skill or talent.. if its not what you need? oh well, use the scroll to reroll and hope you get what you need.. you gain these scrolls for doing almost anything, completing daily quests, queing up for a random dungeon run etc.. you get plenty of unlearn scrolls, but you still at the mercy of a random roll.. area 52 is the way to go.. look thru a list of builds that other players have made, choose it, and wheneverr you level up it gives you what that build has.. decide you didnt like that current buiild and you saw another you want to try, just deactivate the other build, and it will erase your current build and clear all the skills and talents, and give you what the new one you wanted to try has.. ez brzy

Yeah, not only a time saver, but it will help newer players find things that would otherwise be harder to find. Also, this to me, makes the game less secretive about spells, giving newer players more options that they otherwise wouldn't know about.

What we've found so far is if the experiences are different enough it is a tide that lifts all boats. Elune being so different from Area 52 for example actually promoted growth a lot on Area 52. Ascension is really complicated so having a more familiar realm like the Original 9 classes to jump in and play more how people remember should help really grow the community.

It's strange, watching this made me hyped for a custom server I never played on before. Maybe it's the presentation, maybe it's the sheer amount of innovative ideas behind it, everything just gets me excited and interested. Even as an on-and-off Retail player, it makes me question how limited and uninspired our current gameplay design is. Everything is designed to play it safe, and appease the biggest market. It's not the worst, but this trailer made me realize we could have had something better.

@FecalMatador i wish that was all true, but it just isn't reality. Achievements and such were filler content and 3.3 was one of the longest patches Blizzard has had. By the time most had 6gs they had burnt out filler content. So By 6months in, most were raid logging in the middle of the week. Tuesday to Thursday booming, By Friday weekend crews popped in, but most were already raid logged.

I'm excited to see the realm for the original 9 classes and the newcomer system overhaul. I tried to get a friend into ascension and I had to help them a lot to pick spells that would be good for his play style. I can't imagine how hard it would be for a brand new person who has never played WOW to pick spells for themselves without help. I am also looking forward to the super tracker, even as a player who has played for a few years I still get lost and have to look at my map a lot.

Just the wrong guild. I'm playing twow and even though I'm a ret paladin I'm able to roll almost any item. There are a few that need to be prioritized to certain classes in order to progress, but I don't mind. There will be always the chance to go pug and Soft reserve certain items if your guild won't give you the chance to roll.

There are personal loot systems in addition to the regular rolled loot on Ascension! It is a combo system. So no one can stop you from getting loot!

I love the new content guys, but what im MOST excited for is server stability and a more streamlined approach to how you guys update each server. Maybe a more retail-approach to weekly maintenance, and finally WAY more communication with the community. Also excited for the compendium and a new player overhaul, my only gripe is the "speed". Introducing mounts and flight paths to the next zone, also lessens time spent actually playing and seeing the world in which you're playing. In retail it turned it into a race to max level, and i feel like new to wow - players would lose a LOT of the entire WOW experience. I also disagree refering to "hiding" builds. Many people spend hours and hours on refining their build, or theorycrafting. It becomes something THEY built, and to have people copy-paste your hard work, feels off. Obviously bugs and exploits arent a part of that. I thought Hero Architect was great for new players, because the people that wanted to share their builds could, and the people that didnt, didnt have to. Again, a big part of Ascension is building your own unique hero, yes? While i did like Hero Architect, i still think it introduced a "dumbed" down version of the entire game. and i KNOW player retention is hard, especially for newer players but i think you found the holy grail here; the Compendium. It looks like everything a new player would need to succeed. Both in having fun playing the game AND how to build their hero. I would say, be careful making the game too "easy". I never even considered that people new to wow would somehow connect to a private server. Says a lot about how far we've come from the days of torrenting a specific wow client, downloading a patch for said client, installing it in a specific way and manually setting the realmlist into the text file to connect to a private server. You gave me too many things to be excited about... I joined this year and this has become my main WoW Game... I have been Playing WoW since Vanilla Naxx and recently I was moving away from it, but the idea of classless pulled me back in and I was excited every time I booted up the game... Cyrotherapist is my number one and I never thought a Mage and Priest my two favourite specs could come together to be... amazing. I dunno, I guess my childlike wonder and excitement has come back for wow and it's thanks to you guys... Though the dungeons looks sick and Karazan catacombs, my heart strings! I have played Ascension again for a week after grinding in turtle WoW and i have to say open world contents in ascension is dead , people just sit in city and spam dungeon finder or they just play manastorm . Dont misunderstand me Ascension is a cool private sever and trying new archetype while leveling is very very fun but doing quest alone in a empty map with the mobs be like 😮‍💨😕🙁. I know rush leveling in WildCard and free pick is not that bad , u can try new build when u get max level but when CoA and bronzebeard come out , i hope they make them just normal leveling experience , the real Classic + experience just my personal opinions btw

Wanna know why some people quit playing ? The 10 - 16gb download bug that occurs every 10 or 11 days. The forums do not work, so there is no avenue for people to ask questions or obtain knowledge about the game. Edit: Bau Edit: Wotlk release will kill all servers that do not have it.

The quality of this project seems phenomenal. I've recently tried a trial of Retail WoW and was really dissapointed by the monster scaling. It really diminished the immersion. Classic WoW seemed like an option but now looking at Ascension, with so much content to discover, the choice will be easy.

i think the biggest thing in this video is the "newcomer feature" which is great. i always get into the game and leave after a few hours because i'm just lost. i have to keep asking people for guidance and it just takes the fun out. while i love the concept and what's happening here i couldn't get into it much. i even wanted to test this server with my friends but since they are new to WOW, i knew that it would've been a horrible experience. i think now will be a good time to get in then. thank you for listening to playerbase and improving. P.S. does this overhaul come with chapter three?

bro when the narrarater was talking about wotlk i got excited so much like its the first time i ever saw wotlk ever it was literally the same feeling i had when i was a kid playing wow (and now im 23 still playing wow xdd) but man no matter how much ascension gets better they always deliever more than expectations and i also cant wait to try out coa i dont wanna play on beta or alpha cause i wanna try the full experience one time rather than occasionally better go ahead and bis my character up before wotlk comes out now
