This is amazing. I have spent the past year juggling too many things...my own fault. I have to learn that NO is a complete sentence. But, the Lord has taught me so much during this time and this video sums up so much of what I had to learn to do. I also am learning (a work in progress) how to not be as anxious is to trust in Him. When I have and let the anxiety go, things worked out much better. So thankful to God and to Fr. Mike and BIAY to bring me back to the Lord in such a deep way, and yet I know I have so much deeper to go. Thank you for keeping me constantly learning.

I'm soon to be 58yrs old!! I still can't say no. It's something I think that takes time and prayer. And checking our mind reminding ourselves that God is #1. Whenever I sin or start to be doing too much for another human being....I have to go back to God. It all starts with him. And I can really really tell you is that God has done wonderful things for me and to me. I am still a sinner that has an incredible amount of growth to do. The 1 thing I know is if in all I do I don't put God 1st it's not going to work. God bless you!!

I’m so glad we don’t have to be perfect. I always knew that because only God is perfect. We are human with human frailty. We can only do the very best we can. Will we fail, yes at times we will, but we just get up and try again. That’s what I think anyway and that’s what I’m hearing from Fr. Mike. I keep praying for you and discernment for me to know what to do and when it’s time to do it.

“You, therefore, must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.” (Matt 5.48) Excellence: 1) Promptness, 2) Preparedness “Success occurs when opportunity meets preparation.” Fresh Prince of Bel-Air actors were hesitant in the beginning, and TV producer Quincy Jones told them, “No analysis paralysis,” and the show was excellent! Exactly! “This is a C level out of you. You have A level in you.” (That spoke to me)

My problem with punctuality is that wherever I happen to be, I want to keep working. I don't even mind leaving work an hour after I'm required to stay at work. When I'm before the Blessed Sacrament, I want to keep praying even if and even though I have a pending appointment. When I'm helping someone, I want to keep helping him. At the end of the day, I want to keep working and sometimes work through the entire night even if I might become sleepy by the next evening. My problem is that I want to do more and don't like limitations which is a form of pride and lack of humility. Sometimes I even doze off with my clothes on.

Fr. Mike, this is a real stumbling block for me, and likely a lot of other people, especially young adults. Recently, there’s been an explosion of awareness about psych conditions like ADHD, so much so that there’s a shortage of medication for it. ADHD involves problems managing executive function, like time management and self-regulation. ADHD patients are often told in school that they’re turning in “C” level work when they are capable of submitting “A” level work, and many of us grow up with a lot of guilt when it’s not always our fault. BUT it’s also hard to tell when we’re using our struggle as an excuse. The secular media is pushing self-love, acceptance, and an abolition of the word “should” for those with this struggle, but when I look to the Church all I feel is guilt for not trying hard enough. It feels impossible to please God with this condition because it’s tiring to try so hard. Can you speak to the struggles of those with special needs? Almost no one in the Church does… thank you 🙏

The formula for perfect excellence and/or excellent perfection is: 1 X 2 (AKO²)= PE and/or EP I like the part where you do that Freudian slip and say..."I'll do it when I have time..." right after listing all the stuff you're supposed to do on time, lol. That was rich. Perfectly imperfect, just the way life is and shows itself as the best and only way to be:)

I really struggle with this. I’m a perfectionist and I think sometimes my retaliation to my own brain (if you can call it that) is self sabotage on the simple things like preparation.

"Perfect is the enemy of the good, but good enough is the enemy of humanity". This is a quote from the movie Blackberry, I think it fits well here. We have faith in the "perfectness" of Jesus and we strive to be more Jesus-like in our thoughts, words, and actions, so we are in a sense striving for "perfectness", but we hold that this cannot be done without the grace of Jesus as it is Him that perfects our contribution to His kingdom. We know perfect is not achievable by ourselves alone, but striving for it, and by His grace it allows us to achieve excellence rather than "good enough".

I was raised a Roman Catholic , went to a Roman Catholic school , studied biblical history , was 2 week's away from joining the priesthood , then i asked the priest at my church 1 question and that 1 question stopped me from becoming a priest. Do you know what that question was ? We will get back to that in a moment. Ever since I was a young child I would pray , when friends from school came for me to go out and play i wouldn't go out because every spare second i had i would go to my room and pray , never missed mass on a Sunday always 11am , as i said before I had a big interest in biblical history , i learned about times way before Noah's ark . My question was Why doesn't the Catholic faith ever discuss Mount Hermon at mass The answer i got was Don't you ever mention that subject again with a slap across my face by the priest. So i will ask you the same question Why Doesn't The Catholic Faith Ever Discuss Mount Hermon At Mass ? You see you can't always talk about Christ and all the good You must talk about the bad and the bad i mean satan .

I'm struggling by setting myself up for failure. I know I will never be perfect, but I set up goals that I'll never reach and call myself names and have a panic attack over a fixable mistake, screaming like a 2 year old child and beat myself up.. or even take all day just to start something. My mom says I gotta pull myself together, go to mass everyday (I haven't been..) and pray my rosaries everyday. Can I call it an excuse? Lazy perfectionism?

Once upon a time a certain King gave to His chosen servants the free gift of vast riches to each one. In the process of time men under the pretense of being the King's servants rose up and went to the descendants of the chosen servants saying If you desire to be heirs of the free gift of riches you must follow us to earn those riches and do your part. After following those deceivers, the descendants found they had no inheritance of vast riches and even lost everything they seemed to have. They inquired of the King for their riches. The King said Did not I say my vast riches were a free gift but you did not believe me or reverence my Word instead you listened to those deceivers. Then the King cast the deceivers and descendants into prison for ever. Ephesians 2:8 KJV "For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 not of works, lest any man should boast."

I need some good advice. My mom and I are living in a situation that is not ideal. We are living in my great grandmothers house, which I love. We live next-door to my grandparents. My grandfather grew up in the house that I am living in. We are helping my grandparents who are getting older in years. My grandfather especially is not a friendly guy. He can be very emotionally abusive. He says things that are very hurtful and he puts the men in our family on much more of a pedestal. Then he puts the women in the family. he puts the women in the family down a lot and tells us that we can’t do anything and we don’t know anything and we couldn’t do any better. I’m still in school and my mom is thinking of sending me to a boarding school to get me out of the mess. that worries me because then my mom will be alone and have to deal with it. and the men in our family don’t see anything wrong with it. They grew up this way. We really believe that women can’t do any better. What should I do? What can I do. I pray every night and every day and I know God hears me otherwise things would be much worse. But two heads are better than one right can you give me any good advice thank you.
