@@IvanLopez-fx3hx we are priests And God has given pastor's elders teachers evangelists in the building of the church ? Which we are the church and Christ is the head and we are the body , he is the cornerstone and we build ourselves on our Lord Jesus which makes us the church, as our body's are the temple of the Holy Spirit. And in no terms does God say confess to man for forgiveness of sins. As only God can forgive when we confess our sins to him in the name of Jesus. As man can't see your heart only God can ? So how can man forgive sins. We are all sinners and only belief in Jesus Christ and what he done for us on the cross And if you confess Jesus is Lord And if you repent which means a change of mind and to turn away from sin and trust in Jesus and obey his commands which are not grevious as his way is perfect and brings Joy and love as we are filled with the holy spirit. We humble ourselves and have faith in God in all things. So my freind there's only one way for a father son relationship with God and that's through faith in Jesus Christ because he is the Lord God. No rituals no religious routine can get you to heaven and no good works because Jesus done it all and our good works are as filthy rags to him. It's total faith in the Lord Jesus and repentance comes with that through God's power through the holy spirit

@NikoHL try not to be nervous but I understand as I was in your situation a week ago. Just write it all down while you are examining your conscience. The priests have heard it all, especially with me! You will feel so good when you get out of there. If you forget anything, you are still pardoned of that sin, if you honestly forgot it and then just next time you go to confession, be sure to tell it. I was glad to get mine over with and it was very lengthy, so lengthy that I made an appointment with the priest at his rectory. It would have taken way too long in a confessional While others are waiting for me. Good luck! You can do it. All us Catholics totally understand!

I was through 8 years of Catholic education from the early 1960's through the 70's. I was already taught about doing a good confession. So many religious make it sound so difficult when really it isn't. Making a good confession means stating the truth on what you've done or didn't do when you should have. Plus, going to confession frequently meaning twice a month. Folks, it is not difficult. I guess I have no issue with it because I go frequently. I make myself realize that it is Christ himself on the other side of the screen. I close my eyes and answer whatever questions the priest has. You know, you did have the option of face-to-face or anonymously. I confess better anonymously and answer all questions the priest has honestly. When the priest says I have made a good confession I know I've answered honestly from the heart.

I am looking forward to it, to unburden myself but I am still learning about genuine repentance and actually facing all the things I have been a willing participant in my whole life. For the first time I am actually looking at not only my actions but how they became a way of life and how I now see how wrong and arrogant I have been even thinking about my misdeeds. Confession is a strange concept to me having been a protestant, but I can see how this is something I need.

Thank you so much for this! I have not been back to confession since converting (2 years ago). I want to go and NEED to go but I have often wondered how I can make a truly good confession and how to do a good/thorough examination of conscience. I appreciate these tips so much! My first confession was so cathartic and as a convert, it made me understand why confession is so important. I am still learning though, and this has helped tremendously! Thanks again and God bless you and the work you do! 🙏

There's a good saying "anything worth doing is worth doing badly." 😉 Even a confession that isn't done well (but with the right attitude), is better than never going at all out of fear.

Thank you father Mike for making it easier to go to confession. I have always dreaded when it’s time to go to confession. I know that I will receive the grace to be a better person . I want to grow in my trust in God.

I put myself first, even though I pray to God and am improving myself so that I can one day donate to help others on the eath(God's creation) I pray never I'm grateful for what I have, but I shouldn't be sinning as much as I do

I’m in RCIA and have been unsure what to say in my first communion. I’m scared of being judged by the priest and at the same time, afraid of taking too long over every little thing and boring him to tears. This kind of cuts to the chase to get to what is meaningful - thank you.

Heather Allingham Read the CCC, it defines what sins are in respect to ten commandments. Go to page 504, second edition. Start from there.

Confession is the best thing the Catholic church has after the Eurcharist. We are so blessed our salvation is secured with confession. So many people go to confession after so many years away and feel so much at peace. Dont miss a day without going to confession. Those that go to confession regularly know that Jesus truly loves them for he forgives our sins over and over again. Dont be afraid. Attend Holy Mass, Confession, Adoration, Bible, Rosary, Divine Mercy

Thank you. This was very helpful. I want to make a good confession but it has been over 23 years! I can see clearly from your video that I put God firmly on the sideline of my life. The truth is that I am miserable without him…

Well said Father Mike. So many people over the years have used the old 'I'm not religious/don't go to church/don't believe in God' but I'm a good person. I like the way you put it as I have never been able to figure out what to say to the 'good person' scenario. The reality is people find being spiritual hard work and so they try to take the easy way out. Buy a Buddha, stick on your counter and then don't put on effort. They don't understand that we take sacraments and being baptised and confirmed and receiving the Eucharists are sacraments and it's like marriage. You make a commitment. It really makes me so upset that people make a greater commitment to their football team (especially in Australia one of the most spiritually bereft countries on the planet) than to their faith. Please pray for Australia. Many are living in spiritual delusionalville. The only people bringing spirituality to our country are the immigrants. You are blessed that in America you all say 'God bless America'. At least we have the Queen as head of this country. That's one saving grace. Possible the only thing keeping us afloat.

Thanks for these videos; they are like a refreshing breeze. This one missed the best 'cheat sheet' of all, the Ten Commandments. The stone that the builders rejected has become the corner stone- we need to recover the Jewish roots of our faith.
@PaperTrailsAnimation8 жыл бұрын
Actually you need to get to the faith that actually IS rooted. You need to trust in the gospel, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures:

I do not go to confession and it has never been for me. I could always change my mind but for now I am happy with confessing to God whenever I let Him down. I am so humbled by how much he loves us that He forgives us for our sins against Him. I have shared my testimony of how God miraculously cleansed me of my sins just in the pew during the priest's sermon. Happy Easter everyone for Jesus is alive with the Holy Spirit and I am so humbled.

You're required to go if you're catholic.....it's hard for me too but I always feel amazing after......when you go say what you would want to say to jesus regarding the sins you've done.....you can make an examination of conscience, then say a prayer, then go.
