Thank you so much for posting this wonderful selection of music composed by Asencio for guitar, and also for the thoughtful description of his work. In my opinion, it is very important that this music was composed for guitar and not for another instrument and then adapted for guitar.

Ok. This is a very sophisticated and almost cientific technical music, with lots a dissonants. It is not direct and imediate beautifull, but is deep and with time the beauty in it comes out. Tks for sharing.

Back in the 70's when I was a college student in Trivandrum, Kerala we had lots of tourists particularly named hippies. They were attracted to India mainly because of two reasons - Hinduism with its meditation, yoga, etc., and the abundant supply of cheap herbal drugs such as ganja, opium, cocaine, Marijuana, etc. Tourists of both genders but unrecognizable because of long hairs and skinny bodies (due to 'over eating ' of the herbal remedies mentioned earlier) with classical guitars on their shoulders spent their days and nights by singing, dancing and playing guitars beautifully in their favorite beach in Kovalam popularly named after Adam's wife in the Holy Bible and naturallly the dress code stipulated for tourists was exactly as enjoyed by Adam and Eve at Aden Estates. This novel lifestyle attracted the attention of we students but the Police did not allow us inside even in the night. So we the young who came to give a different kind of pleasure to to our minds far away from the monotony of academic books had to be satisfied with the immense pleasure to our ears although our eyes did not get the required pleasure. But those memories linger in my mind or ears (sadly not visually) about their playing Hawaiian or Spanish guitars as sweet as the freshly taken natural honey from big trees in forests. Similar was my experience here - lovely, as sweet as natural honey, marvelous and etching in my memories for years to come. An entirely different experience! Thank you Brilliant Classic!
