We went on a Saudi Arabian desert adventure to the Yellow Lake, Asfar Lake, in Al Ahsa on the outskirts of Al Hofuf. Thanks to our kind friends Mohamammed, Khaled and Khaled who we met through couchsurfing. In true Arabian hospitable style they invited us on a desert adventure.
Driving out into the yellow sands, only 30 minutes from Al Hofuf, we visited the beautiful Asfar (Yelllow Lake). We saw camels in the desert, enjoyed a traditional Arabian desert camp with coffee and dates and even did some desert tobogganing! Join us on our adventure!

Hi Mandy / Lee, The 4x4 have replaced the bedouin's camels but they still move around with tons of stuff for their picnic / day out in the desert. Having a drone would gives another dimension to your videos but that also take some precious space in your backpacks. Thanks for the upload, wishing you a lovely week. Take care 😎

Hi Sergio. The people there seem so adaptable to desert life. They cope so well with all the extreme conditions. It's so interesting to spend time with them. 😊 It's so great to have the chance to have some drone footage. I do love the perspective they give of a place. The only problem for us is that travelling constantly it's very hard to import them into many countries. Many have strict rules about importation and where they can be flown. For example we wouldn't have been able to take one into Saudi Arabia. It's a shame as using one would be a great asset.
