Talonflame is easily my favorite of Ash's flying types. I love how much he was used in 7/8 gyms and how he pretty much always got a good win out of every battle he was in.

Talonflame came in clutch so many times. Whether it was outmaneuvering opposing Pokémon in a battle (like with Olympia's Meowstic), helping hatch Noibat using its Flame Body ability and being a big brother figure alongside Hawlucha, or with helping train Gengar for the Masters 8 Tournament. It quickly became one of my favorite regional bird Pokémon.

I wouldn't say rock and ice are much of a problem since he has 2 pokemon that deal super effective damage to those types. Electric is the biggest problem since Ash has no ground types (then again, the only Gen 6 ground types are Diggersby and Zygarde...) but both Goodra and Pikachu resist electric moves.

Great way to start off the classes of 2024. Talonflame was a super solid bird. May not have finished battles but definitely put in the work. Kinda funny that it was in almost every gym battle. Almost got to tie with Johto Pikachu.

During the Kalos Saga 1st showing... ever since the moment Fletchling evolved into Fletchinder, due to the circumstances, i was predicting that Ash's eventual Talonflame would learn Fire Blast. It's a shame this never happened though. It's a shame Flame Charge was It's strongest Fire move too. Just imagine, being able to call for Aerial Fire Blast's.. the power behind them, the creativeness of using that move in mid air, changing where you are on the battle field, not stuck on the ground... It would have been next level, and made Talonflame even more of a threat!

It's strange how Talonflame lost a projectile option in general. The only moves it used after evolution were Flame Charge, Steel Wing and Brave Bird. It probably still has Razor Wind but Ash just...never uses it. It was never the most useful move but it's still an option and better than just having 3 moves.

The way the XY-XY&Z series animated Talonflame battle made my friend a fan. That's why he was overjoyed it became the first bird mon available in Scarlet/Violet. He became his first non-starter starter mon throughout his gameplay, up to clearing Indigo Disk. His all avian themed mon.

I feel Ash’s Kalos team truly cares for and respects Talonflame after all she’s been through. I was suprised to see how she evolved into Fletchender, and defeated her final evolution, also the evolution into Talonflame was kinda similar. It was also suprising to hear how she managed to beat Trevor’s Charmeleon. If anything I think Talonflame and Haluncha are kinda like parents to Noibat, the must be both proud and surprised that he grew into such a beast.

My Talonflame was the first pokemon on my X team to reach high friendship and stick it out in battle. Ever since then it's been my favorite regional bird. I love how Ash's Talonflame was so prolific in his journey and put in the work in all it's battles. The fact that it was so desperate to save Ash that it evolved made me cry. It's such a great pokemon and one of the best Ash has ever had.

Ash's 2nd best/strongest bird, in my opinion, behind Swellow! And my 3rd favorite, adding Hawlucha between him and Swellow. Such a great team player and personality. It's gym battles and final evolution, like Swellow, were memorable. However, I wish its league battles were a bit memorable. It had one sort-of epic draw against Unfezant, ironically, but... I wish it could have been a beast like Swellow was. Still, it was a great bird and addition to Ash's team, and had memorable friendships with the XY Gang.

Fletchling and Noctowl will always be my favorites and i would pick them in my team. Taillow is the strongest (in Ash’s team) but those two had that intriguing vibes and memorable. They’re not just flying types, Talonflame can use fire type moves while Noctowl had psychic.

Ash's archetypical regional bird tend to be on the more simpler side, as most of them share few specific characteristics: - They are caught early on into the journey, often as the first or one of the first captures of the region, so they get lot of screen time early on as the only other pokemon in the party usually are Pikachu and maybe another third pokemon - Their main role across all of Ash's journeys has been that utility scout that is very befitting to the hiking setting most seasons utilized - and they also serve as this sort of *_reliable jack-of-all trades trooper / tool (not in a derogatory manner)_* he can use whenever he needs to - the regional bird fulfills his purpose to Ash and that's all they're asked to do - he has never had a particularly deep bond with any of the regional birds, perhaps outside of Pidgeot and Talonflame - they evolve to their final form usually fastest and evolve as the first pokemon in Ash's party, they reach their peak early on into the journey and than become a tertiary character - Noctowl is the odd one out in multiple ways

Yes, talonflame is great, even brick bronze, even though I had Greninja in my first save, I used it as if it was my ace, I fought a lot of battles, I had 8 fitness in 8 gyms, even though I had frogadier in the Volkan gym, I only used Fletchinder with all the trainers and the leader, everyone should get an exp on frogadier. I threw it to Charmeleon, I was so stupid that I threw it to the leader to beat Noibat in the 7m Gym, but Noibat saw the other pokemons with Whirlwind, then I threw Talonflame, I fought with him, maybe I used a pokemon or two, and he tanked Brave Bird, and despite my stupidity, he turned the match and at the end of the match, he fought with his own Brave. He learned bird, then I kept using him in the last Roria League version, he won even in the Electric Gym, he won the Grass Gym for free, in Victory Road, even though I wanted to save my max revive in one of the last remaining men, there was only one Pokemon left and I used it on him, Talonflame turned the match in Elite Four. It worked, unfortunately the champion didn't work either, I replaced him with Heatran, but I still thought it was unfair that he wasn't in the Hall of Hame and I made a victory speech with him from the PC along with a couple of my Pokemon, he did a lot of work on my way to the championship, he was a complete ace in my first save, they both evolved at the same time as Greninja. He either played the same number of matches or he might even have played more matches than Greninja.
