Nice job. I remember those ash trays were very common in the 1950s. Glad you stopped smoking. It was the hardest thing I ever did.

I remember people having still having those around when I was a kid, some of them were incredibly ornate and even had lighting.

That looks like a great candidate for a cat food dish? Maybe flip the lid, food on the bottom water on top? I don't know much about cats....never the less cool project, it is neat to see vintage stuff restored. Cheers

I don't know what to tell you. As with anything, break it down into the smallest parts you can put back together; clean up all the finishes; reassemble and repaint. Other than that, I have no advice. Best of luck in your restoration adventure.

Congrats on bieing a former heavy smoker like my self was up to 3 packs a day myself thank God I was able to quit it wasn't easy I know how hard it is to quit

Thanks Larry. Yes, had quit a couple of times before but never lost the desire for it. Then I had a heart attack and that did it. Now finally, the smell disgusts me. Can't believe that part, I used to love them so. Hey, thanks for watching!
