The Asante warriors refused to be circumcised as was required in Islam because they believed that the blade shedding blood would weaken them. Mansa Musa took all of the gold on hajj and never brought it back. Musa declared that ALL of the inhabitants were going to be Muslim. The Akwapem were the group who left and travelled the Upper Volta and Niger River into what is now Ghana.. where they were acquainted and lived near Bonomen/Mossi. The migration was in waves.. If I’m wrong, please correct me.

I have a question for anyone who may know this. Are there physical features of someone belonging to the Ashanti tribe that could distinguish them? I ask this because I was approached on 2 different occasions by strangers that asked me if i was Ashanti. Both brothers who asked me this were from Africa but not from Ashanti. My eldest aunt used to always tell me that we were royalty from the Ashanti tribe, so these 2 encounters got me thinking about the validity of what my aunt always told me.

Why does he start your Asante history based on a European author's book researched and published around 1817? The elder seems to trust a European account more than their own oral historian/ griots.

"To my Ashante, the Pink flamingo with one foot down is coming, surprising no one, followed by the black camel, be warned. Seek refuge or flee." These words seem like nonsense to me, but I don't often dream words I've never heard before. It was a womans voice and she pronounced the end of the tribal name with a Teh and not tea. I'm looking for someone with a sore or broken right ankle.

Jewish circumcise a male child at eight days after birth also inherits paternal, the Ashanti’s or Akans inherits maternal also in our tradition we don’t circumcise, we are now doing it through Christianity, in fact in Akan tradition, you can not be a king or chief if your circumcised
