ASHANTI TALKS ABOUT NELLY BETRAYING HER PUBLICLY & GETS EMOTIONAL in Corpus Christi, TX

She's talking about Irv when she refers to being betrayed, especially the part about the money. He kept her masters and blocked her career from flourishing once she left him and his label. She was young and naive when she was dealing with him but when she grew up a bit and got the courage to walk away, that's when she got with Nelly the first go around years ago. Then, Irv basically was on a mission to destroy her career. The "boys club" of producers and labels in the industry agreed to NOT work with her, basically siding with Irv, and it went on for years. Meanwhile, the whole time Irv was telling her all she had to do was drop Nelly. She stayed with Nelly but kept her relationship with him on the down-low. That's why they are so purposely open to the public about their love for eachother this time around. It's an eff u to Irv because they were forced to be so secretive the first time around. Anyway, back then Ashanti & Nelly's relationship did eventually become public and Irv let her go from the label but continued to block her from getting signed to another label. So, she toured with Nelly while her own career stalled because she was basically in a career limbo at that time even though she still had many hits circulating the airwaves. During that time, Nelly's sister died of leukemia and it sent him into a depression and that affected their relationship. Ashanti tried to ride it out with him but they've both said that they were both just too broken emotionally at that point in their lives. Then, they broke up. They were both young and both superstars and both under a lot of pressure. Everyone thought it was about cheating rumors but it was actually really deeper than that. They were dealing with career sabotage, family d€¤th and a lot of uncertainty within themselves and about their future. After their breakup, Ashanti eventually rebuilt her career by getting a team of her own, booking her own shows and building her presence on tours all across the world. She set up her own company, she took control of her own destiny, and became a BOSS. Then, BOOM, Nelly walked across that stage at Versus and we all see the ROCK on her finger in this video! Irv tried to stop her money, her career, and her love, but he does NOT have the power to stop her! Only God is the author of all of our stories. What God has for you, no man can taketh. PERIOD!!!
