That is one of the reasons for being late on camera. She was there in the background but said there were issues with the mic and camera and that's why she didn't come out on time. She definitely knew she didn't come off right, she she did apologize though.

When Ashanti had to cancel because she had Covid, It was Keyshia being the loving and supporting of Ashanti. Keyshia wanted to be in the same room with Ashanti to love on her and give her, her flowers. Keyshia had technical difficulties with wifi. She was upset because of a few other things and she was nervous. In this case, Ashanti had to do her part. I hope all these negative comments doesn't cause a riff between two ladies who WANTED to do this TOGETHER.

I totally agree. I even rewatched on KZbin to see if I missed all this “stank” Keyshia was supposedly giving...there was none. Even when there was the confusion about who would set off the 2nd round, and Ashanti asserted herself, Keyshia was just like “😕 oh ok” the “old” Keyshia would’ve handled that a lil differently even though it wasn’t her turn to start off. She was genuinely vibing to most of Ashanti’s songs (while Ashanti was on her phone during Keyshia’s), she complimented Ashanti’s songs more, she was drinking her drink having a good time given the circumstances. She was uncomfortable with the top part of her outfit and mentioned that she told the stylist, but I guess the team insisted on her wearing it. Her sound was flawed. She had so many reasons to really be stank and she wasn’t, so ppl need to stop.

I’m gonna look into it deeper! Both ladies is a Libra just like myself and I understood both energies! Keyshia cole reasoning of being nervous is understood and a nervous Libra is a destructive Libra.... balancing is all over the place. Ashanti energy was classy but at the same time girl don’t try it. 😆. Verzuz is supposed to be a celebration of the artist music and somehow became a battle of who music is better. I hate that everybody is giving Keyshia such a hard time. I'm with Syleena in extending grace. BOTH ladies were late, Keyshia maybe 20 min more and to me, she had very good reason. Her video was blurred(which everyone commented on while waiting), her audio was off, and she was nervous! Yea she had an attitude but like anyone else, we've waited a whole month+, she wanted everything to be perfect. Ashanti had technical difficulties as well, but we didn't see it. She just came on and had poise and positive energy which gave her the W from the masses. Both did well!! We just see how 2 different women handle a pressured situation. That's all.

I'm sure everybody would be mad if there mic wasn't working properly or the words of people's comments were going all of their faces. Everybody get nervous sometimes. Cmon give this girl a break. I feel like Keyshia Cole was into the music more than Ashanti. Even though she got up a few times, she still was being a team player singing Ashanti' s music. Ashanti was texting and in her phone during Keyshia's singing time as well. They both have great music, and I enjoyed the whole versus battle between them. They both came with one hit after another one. I agree with Syleena on this one.

Feelings of inadequacy can impact people’s actions. Keyshia doesn’t come from a stable background and she’s sitting down to be directly compared to a sex symbol. Ashanti has come into her own with time and truly carved out a lane for herself. She’s developed her vocal through training and persistence and is still considered relevant. As someone who is not in that position it can be intimidating. Keyshia’s MO has been to give off don’t fuck with me vibes to prevent people from attacking or evaluating her. So stepping into this platform was triggering for her. Hence, she was late because the camera and mic set up weren’t flattering. When she sat down she derided her appearance and compared herself to Ashanti. She made a comment about needing to work what she had (her breast) because she was sitting down with Ashanti. People should cut her some slack.

I disagree that the shade wasn’t on Ashanti’s part. I think Ashanti was giving sneaky shade. I don’t even think Keyshia was shady. I think she was too defensive, per usual. I've been a KC fan from day one bcz her songs have always been REAL & resonated w/ things I could relate to- especially her early songs lol, kind of like Mary J... so I GOT her vibe also & I think her TRUE fans that been rocking w/her for years GET it. She doesn't always have the most RELATABLE personality & comes off ruff at times but it's bcz of her life & who she is PERIOD. Ashanti-luv her too but she has always been BUBBLEGUMMY, as is her music, so she has a total opposite vibe & so we saw a lighter spirit. I would think that Vivica & Lisa Raye could relate bcz lets be real...THEY haven't always had the best attitudes or made the best impressions on folks either but we still luv them! lol Anywho it was great to celebrate the 2 ladies- both are Amazing!

I agree with syleena, and keyshia being nervous ! Verzuz is similar to a stage performance but not quite and you can critique the small things easier just sitting in front of the screen and not being able to be your full self with the moving around ! So I would actually be a lil More nervous doing that verzuz in front of people

In all honesty it wasn't really worth the delay. But it was great to see two Black women celebrating each other's work. Keisha was cheering her on. Ashanti did not, Ashanti was on the phone, unacceptable. Keisha was showing love you look good, I love that song, sing Ashanti. Team support i did not see that with Ashanti, it was about her. Keisha was late, you have to do sound check, I know as a performer, getting up from the chair, ill go first.
