You and me both! I need to go back to see a lot of what I didn’t have the time or energy to see the first time. Nice break from the crowds of the Narrows. Enjoy and thanks for watching

I have been on that stream just above the narrows or gorge.

I saw that trail on my map, as i came out of the right hand portion of the gorge. I explored the trail a bit, and wondered if you can get down to the falls from it… i was thinking about taking it, so I didn’t have to backtrack. I erred on the side of caution in case there wasn’t a way down, and returned the same way. It would have made for a very long day if I couldn’t get down. Im definitely going back to see some of the area I didn’t get to see. Thanks for watching

@@mybucketlist5940 I have encountered a couple of dead ends where you can get "ledged up" so don't go *down* one of these trails unless you can turn around and go back up. Many moons ago my buddy and I went down one of these little canyons from the plateau, following a well-worn trail down into the stream that flows through Ashdown Gorge. The reason it was well worn is nearly everyone that went down, also came back up! We decided not to do that, but instead slid on the slickrock or sandstone down into the river, definitely a one-way trip there's no climbing back up from that one. That was at the downstream end of the gorge where it opens up and joins the stream coming from the south (Wood's Ranch area) so we waded along the river, got nice and soaking wet, then climbed up to the road. This was back when the coal mine had only recently closed but the tailings still existed and so we were thoroughly covered head to toe in black muddy dust by the time we reached the road.

@@mybucketlist5940 After coming down as a Boy Scout hike, my buddies and I came down from Cedar Breaks just for fun. Camp overnight and start down near 37.660508 -112.851812 then southeast quickly to the bottom so as to avoid ledges. you end up with a ledge anyway but much less of a ledge on this canyon as compared to the others. The first time we went down, tried to bypass this tiny waterfall by following a contour but that was very dangerous. it worked, but slipping would be bad. So the next time we went down we brought a rope for a short rappel of about 15 to 20 feet. at 37.652446 -112.854275. I reviewed my photos to be reasonably sure but this was a long time ago and things are likely at least slightly different. The colors were *glorious* and perfectly contrasted blue sky with the red, yellow and oranges of the canyon. It would be a great place for a drone BUT appears to be restricted as seen on FAA Sectional chart. The lower reaches of Ashdown Gorge appear to be unrestricted; some ranches and corrals are down in that area. That would be a good way to preview whether a particular trail goes anywhere useful before hiking it and finding out that it does not. The roads leading to this little ranch area is what I used to hike *out* before going into the gorge itself. I sometimes wondered what was in there and thanks to your video, now I know! A miniature version of Zion Narrows. You can see an old cabin at 37.634777 -112.895690 Following the dirt road around the plateau we decided to take a short cut and I see that it is called "Long Hollow" at 37.631073 -112.928515 back then it ended at a ledge but at least was steeply sloped into the river so we just slid down that last 20 feet or so into the river. It was great adventure with a bit of danger. Come to think of it, I only went down twice and so it must have been Scoutmaster that chose this route ending up in a ledge.
