The school is a fun time for sure. Funny thing is, I ordered two trucks over a year ago, and now my second dealer and Ford informed me that the second RR has a build date soon. So I now have a VIN and a second invite to the school. I need to find someone who may want a RR in November. I have watched a few of your videos, you are much braver than I am the way you have taken yours apart. Hope you are still enjoying yours, I have just under 2500 miles on mine, and Im still happy with the purchase. Shortly after attending the school, I took mine on a 1000 mile road trip to the Colorado Mountains, (video coming soon), it did great on the trails. Thanks for watching!

With regards to rust I had problems with my Ranger Raptor Gen 1 (I am in Europe). Corrosion protection is practically non-existent on the ladder frame and other chassis parts. Especially living in an area with salted roads during winter, I wish I had put some proper protection earlier. Those Ranger Raptors where built in South Africa, now Gen 2 in Thailand (for Europe and RoW). Not sure about US models, probably built in the USA? But when I look at your video, what I can see from the ladder frame surface, I bet there is not much corrosion protection, too. I would watch it.

I agree totally. I just finished (yesterday) a 1027 mile road trip in the Ranger and it was much quieter, smoother and more comfortable than the Wrangler. Moved office to a $40M building three years ago. On the surface, everything looks nice. Upon closer inspection, there are so many low quality details that I wonder how anyone looked at their work and said to themselves “This is definitely what my customer wants.” It’s like this everywhere. People don’t build things, they don’t craft them. They assemble parts. Materials keep get cheaper, and to keep costs low, so must labor get cheaper. The result is that labor is mostly unskilled now. Apart from inserting tab A into slot B they have no idea what they’re doing and no control over the final product even if they do. If you pay labor more, you cut down the costs through the materials. Now apply the formula to each supplier. This is why Ford builds $60k-$100k trucks with atrocious panel gaps and buggy electronics. We simply can’t or don’t want to pay for anyone to get things perfect.

Ordered feb, built may. Sat there for who kniws what fuckin reason till last friday. So on the site it went from "in production" to "its at the dealer waiting for your stupid ass to pick up". Ford was completelly stonewalling me on answers. They acted like they had NO IDEA how their own system worked, and there was absolutelly no one in the chain if command anyone could call. It was just a nebulous system that simply "does what it does". Theres 2 people on the 6g forums that got raptors delivered with broken AC. They "fixed" it yesterday. Said there was no refrigerant in it, while similtaneously trying to tell an HVAC technician there was no leak. So when i said the only other possible answer is it never got filled from the factory. "Oh no, thats simply not possible". Oh ok bro, so its one or the other.

I have the same brand for my F150 Raptor but had little or no issues installing mines. It's a matter of deciphering the written instructions that are vague like sliding in the clamps on the rail but first removing the end cap; otherwise it's really nice and solid. We have a lot of rain and the scorching sun here in Floriday and to keep it from fading, spray and wipe it down with hybrid ceramic on a regular basis. I had it for about a year now and looks as if I installed yesterday.

I just ordered a RR a few weeks ago from my local favorite dealership. No deposit needed, no dealership doc fees, no obligation to buy, and NO MARKUP! If I choose to not take delivery they will just sell it to the next person that walks in the door so it's a win-win for all. The one caveat is that I would be potentially be trading in my 2023 F150 Raptor. The RR, on the surface, seems to be a better fit for my life currently as the price point is much better (potentially up to $200 less per month in payment). I also live in a urban/suburban area in New England so the size appears refreshing...it will be nice to be able to drive into a touchless automated car wash again for a quick cleaning. I am also curious about the omission of the ventilated seats. Wondering if it is an engineering issue as you can't get them in the Bronco Raptor either and those approach $100K. My F150 has them. Comfort is an issue for me too. I'm 6'3" normal build. Most of the reviews I have seen are from folks that claim to be exactly 6' tall or below (I did find one where the dude said he was 6'4" and claimed to fit comfortably). I'm in no rush to get delivery. Regardless of what happens I will be still drive home from the dealership in a Raptor. Cheers

Mine doesn’t have the rattle or the unevenness over the infotainment, my tailgate gap is there but doesn’t seem as bad as yours, same with hood. Agree with you on ac seats and lack of storage. The controls are typical raptor across all of them. Only issue I have is my infotainment screen sometimes doesn’t boot and I have to restart the truck. Where did you get the red front tow hook red covers and center console tray? I love that grey, mine is black but it hides the agressive lines that show up nicely on your truck.

I haven’t seen any issues with the infotainment so far. One thing I have noticed as I drive it more, the plastic piece above the shift button (where my index finger would rest to push the button to shift) has a bit of a sharp edge. Nothing terrible, but since I rest my hand on the shifter as I drive I seem to focus on the sharp edge. Have to look at doing something about it. I got the tow hook covers from Amazon, had to trim off about 1/4 inch on the fronts, no issues on the rears. www.amazon.com/dp/B0D41MCC4M?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Tray: www.amazon.com/dp/B0CPJ6T829?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details Over all I do really like the truck, I guess time will tell long term. People are so spoiled these days complaining about leather seats that are not cooled. They used to never be cooled even when it was a luxury vehicle. This is one of the reasons why I have never liked leather seats. Miss the days when you could chose leather or cloth seats at any trim level. These Days, leather is the only choice on higher trim levels.
@Vito_Caligiuri
@Vito_Caligiuri 2 ай бұрын
The Colorado, Tacoma, and Frontier have cooled seats. So there’s absolutely no excuse from Ford here besides being stingy/cheap. North American versions of the Ranger don’t get direct air vents for rear passengers. Just a completely useless cubbyhole.
@mikegrantham7440
@mikegrantham7440 2 ай бұрын
@Vito_Caligiuri - and there is no excuse for the Colorado not to have a power adjustable front passenger seat with height adjustment, no power sliding rear window, or fold down rear armrest with cloth seats. Plus, cloth seats don't need cooling. The Ranger does have rear vents. They are under the front seats. Though I do agree, the Ranger should have rear vents where the cubby whole is. But the Colorado only offers the extra power ports and LED head lights with Convenience Pkg III on the lower trim levels. While the Ranger offers LED head lights at all trim levels. So, there are mostly trade-offs depending on the options/packages/trim levels selected between the Colorado and Ranger. While Toyota has priced themselves out of competition against a comparably optioned Colorado or Ranger. I spent hours going comparing the trucks before I chose the Rangerr. So I know what I am talking about. I thought the options for the Colorado were needlessly complex and, in a few instances, rather gimmicky, such as the driver seat map pocket on the back of the front seat.
@Vito_Caligiuri

@@mikegrantham7440 below the seats, but not direct air vents. It’s not that big of a deal since it does cool down very quickly. But the cubbyhole is laughable. All in all, there’s really not much to complain about with the RRaptor. The cooled seats should be an option tho. I just looked it up, and the $100k Bronco Raptor doesn’t come with cooled seats either. THAT is unacceptable

Didn’t order or plan to put rears on, don’t like the look and the rocks coming off the rear tires keep people from following too close 😂. I have watched several videos and looked at other RR and it looks like the tailgate gaps are standard. I’ll say it’s to allow for movement when jumping the truck. 😂. Thanks for watching.
