I love that the dupe bug was reported and squashed, but since they record all transactions, I also think that EVERY SINGLE ACCOUNT that duped more than twice and DIDN'T REPORT IT should be permanently BANNED. No Exceptions. SET THE TREND NOW.
@sticqeno2885 күн бұрын
I think if everyone knew the exceptions going in, sure. If not, it's sort of hard to do that imo. Moving forward, though, the standard should be set & known.
@Hat_Uncle5 күн бұрын
@@sticqeno288 it's all good, you are more forgiving than I am. I'm a one strike guy. The fact they did it at least three times and didn't report is my standard for banning if I was a GM. Because some people might have tried it, once or twice out of curiosity, but after that it would have been intentional. And I CAN say that the ones who abused it, REALLY abused it, without reporting, those should be GONE immediately. heh

I hope they fix the combat next that needs to be fixed asap or at lease flushed out. As a tank I feel useless after being in a small guild where we normally ran 8 man groups. With two bards two rangers tank and 3 mages we all ran with bows and just kited and killed everything. With blue gear and blocking with lvl 10 gear I took the same dmg as I did with white lvl 1 gear. This is concerning to me. I feel like this is being over looked and will damage the game down the road in alpha.

Dupers should get their dupes deleted and be given permanent corruption for being evil as shit

Dupes deleted, yes. Permanent corruption, no. Again, I think the tone needs to be set. If everyone knows the rules going in, then sure, hold no punches afterwards.

Eight years, this "game" should be near to release, not in Alpha 2. It's a scam. A well polished and well finesed scam, but it is a scam.
@sticqeno2885 күн бұрын
Gonna be honest, the goalpost keeps moving for the scam requirements. First, it's not coming to alpha. Now it's out, but it's still a scam. Why do you think it's a scam?
@ronnienicholson29595 күн бұрын
At what point does this well polished scam become not a scam? The feedback has been overwhelmingly positive and intrepid has been extremely proactive with updates and bug fixes.
@fenrirsilver64415 күн бұрын
Its 8 years yes, however, there are some things to take note of. First is that its an MMO and on average an MMO takes 6-9 years within development, and most of the time, that is from very well established studioes which start out with about 150-200+ people on their team. Ashes only got to that much people within their team within the last couple years, and they started with less than 20 people. This by itself will slow down the development alone, not to mention there are always hurdles which may make development even slower, or halt for a period, like when they changed their engine in mid development. The next thing to take note of, is based on what information we have, roughly when it should release, so long as their plans seem to go into motion. Steven within a deleted reddit post said that they want Alpha 2 to last for 1 Year after the start of Alpha 2 Phase 3, this puts the scheduled end for Alpha 2 to be May 2026. Steven has also gone of record before that the Beta will start before the end of Alpha 2, and the Alpha 2 Realms will become the PTR and go back under NDA when the Beta releases. Not only that, but they have also said that if the Beta lasts for months on end, that would be excessive and that the end of Alpha 2 should already be Feature Complete. From the most optimistic perspective, this puts a Launch date for Fall 2026 and for a somewhat pessimistic perspective this puts it for Spring 2027. Getting those dates out of the way, lets look at how fast they fix patches and fix things overall, Alpha 2 has now been going on for 4 weeks, of those weeks there have been very few bugs which go on longer than 2 weeks. We will have to see if this trend continues, but the volacity of their development has been on point so far. I think that this will not be a scam, but rather a solid game. Will it be popular? Probably not, I do not think it will reach anywhere close to the numbers which we see the top MMOs get. There are quite a few things which make this game a niche within a niche, so it will likely be more or less a solid MMO with a medium to lower population size when compared to the MMO genre as a whole. So long as the relationship the developers have to their game stays somewhat the same as currently, I think its biggest strength is how hands on they are. What do I think will simply make it a "niche within a niche"? First of all, the Node system itself while pretty damn cool, due to how different it seems to be treated overall within the community, people think it is just the cities, or when one tries to explain it to someone outside of "the know" the "outsider" tends to chalk it up to a "server hoping simulator". Steven and his team will have to put in a lot of work to make the node system understandable to an entirely new player. The second issue is the concept of open world PvP, I think he is doing a good job of it, but most people's experience with open world PvP isn't a good one, so their impression when they hear Ashes will have it, will make them think of those bad experiences and maybe not what Steven or the team may want them to. I think the third biggiest issue is actually something where the previous two overlap in, and that is the attitude towards Fast Travel. Yes, how Intrepid are doing Fast travel techically should eliminate zergs, so long as they change what they have for the Family Travel conceptually, which should make the open world PvP more tolerable. Also there should be more content centralized around a node, so there shouldn't be a need to go from one node to another for the usual reasons within MMOs, as the content itself within the node will grow. Most people will see the lack of Fast Travel not as a feature or a benefit and more a huge con, remembering how slow it was to travel with New World, as an exmaple. Due to these issues, Marketing and the people in charge of the beginning experience will have a lot of work cut out for them, but as of this moment I think that no matter how they approach it, it will still be a "niche within a niche". I would be happy to be proven wrong on this though. TLDR: You are wrong, it will not be a scam. There may be issues which crop up in development, and there may be a lower population for one reason or another, as it has its own issues, but it is not a scam.
