I bought mine a year ago and it came set up and ready to play. Fantastic guitar, a lot of fun to play. It`s my fourth Firefly and they all have been great with little or no setup.

I have the "vintage white" version. I like it, but I did end up replacing both nuts and the tuners. The nuts were just not cut well and were binding, even with lubricant and the tuners got sloppy quickly. Not good, particularly with the 12 string side. You have a newer generation, so hopefully they are putting in better tuners now. They shipped fast and got it here pretty quickly and it arrived in good condition. I would recommend Firefly. My Firefly Explorer style needed nothing. Great right out of the box. Over a year later and still great.

I had the double neck Bass / Guitar It was solid and cool and unusual but I sold it because the tuning buttons on the guitar neck got completely in the way of my hand when I tried playing the bass. I considered putting banjo style tuners on it but I sold it. However!! I have the Buckethead Baritone. I just put a set of D'Addario auto-trimming locking tuners on it. I'm going to completely replace the wiring and pots and everything. I'm ditching the kill switches for a standard Gibson style wiring harness with push pulls. I'm ordering a set of Seymour Duncan Sentinel and Nazgul pups next week. So stoked. You're the best FF channel on KZbin

I always wanted a double as a curiosity... But.. the price killed my curiosity. But this I can afford and the case is a massive plus at the price. Yes I said massive.... :)

I have played a few Firefly guitars and most are pretty good up to really good but I know the wood they use isn't super high quality which is understandable at that price so as long as you are happy !!!! I really dig my Firefly silver burst Explorer and the neck and fret work are great but the pickups were faulty very low output so it could be that's what it's wrong on the 12 side. I took the pickups out and dropped in some Nickel silver alnico5 and used all the same stock firefly electric parts and it works great ! It's happened before but I think you can put the pickups on a multi meter and test.

Nice review.. Looks dope in white!! Question about your gold/yeplow bat, would you ever swap out the pickups for something like EMGs? Or do you think those pickups are good enough for metal, hardcore, punk the way they are? 🤘

Thank you bro! That means a lot! And oh yeah! I mean I think those stock pickups on the gold bat would be totally fine for metal, they’re not super high output but there’s enough there to work with I’d say!

You'll need to air out the case. Leave it open for a day or two.

A good luthier set up would take care of the nut.
