I have relatives in Asheville, Burnsville, and Fletcher NC, and some buried in Erwin, TN..Erwin is not far from Asheville. Erwin was devastated..people were on the roof of a hospital where the water was nearly at the top of their facility. People who did not evacuate got on top of the roofs of their houses and were swept away with their house. 75 employees at Impact Plastics in Erwin sheltered in place and are all missing...Newport had a compromised dam and their town is catastrophic as well. This is a 3 year + endeavor to put the communities back together. Most employees who have lost their jobs now are in the tourism and service side of businesses...hopefully they will get paid unemployment funds and relief. This is going to be one of the most costly natural disasters of our generation. The families devastated from this have lost in some cases generations of property and land. Chimney Rock, NC up the mountain from Asheville, GONE..historical building s of 100 years gone. If our senile President can't come and give these people comfort, or the cackling Vice President, then I hope North Carolina turns completely RTED and votes them out...Biden should be there ALREADY...and not on the beach where he was this weekend.
