Lore wise makes no surprise. I mean if we take a look at the games umbrella has a lot of soviet soldiers and equipment after the cold war they found themselves without work so umbrella recruit them all.nicholai,mikhail,sergei from umbrella chronicles and maybe even hunk many became leaders of ubcs or uss so no surpise the ashford could have had conections with nazi or communists

The concept art for Code Veronica reveal that Ashford twins originally were Hilda and Hilbert Krueger, and they indeed had connections to Nazi Germany. In this case, Tiger tank, Gold Lugers, prison modeled after freaking concentration camp - it all makes sense.

Well the golden gun cliche started from the James Bond books, films, and games. The book and films explanation was pure golden bullets would heat up and spread, similar to a hollow point. The Golden Eye games took this concept and dialed it up to 11, and then everyone else hopped on the bandwagon.

I have played the Arcade cabinet of Resident Evil Survivor 2: Code Veronica, it is a funky set up with a combination lightgun joystick shaped like the oversized Mac-11 from Resident Evil 2, with it you aim with the gun and move by physically shifting it around attached to a metal bar, its jank but fun, especially since if you run out of time, Nemesis just spawns out of no where and beats your ass into spinach 0_0

On that I can fully agree and has an quite interesting history as well as it’s problems it had to overcome. Just stay away from most nambo(not quite sure how to spell it) pistols of the ww2 era;where surprisingly more akin to a very low yield hand grenades due to the poor quality and materials used as the war went on(some would even explode without even being fired or just drawn from a holster incorrectly. Other then that the Luger and Nambo pistols do have an interesting history and design unlike other firearms of their respective time frames.

I wish they allow you to use the luger in the main game. It's one of my favorite handguns for its nice looking design. I am planning on having the luger as a weapon on my game. It was has a laser reticle, just like the weapons from RE4. Also there are golden Lugers in Wolfenstein the old blood. You unlock them by collecting all the gold collectibles. You can duel wield and surpress them.
