I suspect why Chris' Samurai Edge was never duplicated was Kendo wasn't around to make a replacement. Furthermore, having lost a gun, and having to scavenge for a replacement while facing zombies, probably made Chris a little more detached from his choice of firearm.

I don’t know anyone else has picked up on this but in some of the original RE game titles there are certain guns, environmental esthetics, NPCs and scenarios that closely resemble things seen in the Aliens movie, for example the flamethrower from RE1 and RE2 looks like the M240 incinerator used by the Colonial Marines, the elevator that leads to the landing pad at the end of RE1 original looks similar to the one Ripely used to escape the Atmo Processor, and tell me that the Licker does not remind you of a Xenomorph, at this point I’m surprised the UBCS didn’t roll into Racoon city with the Cheyenne Dropships and the M577APCs!

Lawrence Talbot from the Wolfman would have had this gun come in handy later on.

There needs to be an episode explaining why Chris Redfield's character model changed in RE7 but reverted back in RE8. Seriously, wtf was capcom thinking.

Dieudonné Saive would be the man responsible for the completed design of the Browning HiPower over at FN Herstal. Technically speaking double stack magazines have existed since before the Browning HiPower, the Mauser C96 does have a double stack internal mag for instance. The French Savage 1907 pistol also had a double stack detachable box magazine, although it only held 10 rounds. The Browning HiPower is a honorary wonder 9, really. The French Mab P15 being the first pistol to epitomize the definition of a wonder 9. A full metal service pistol with a DA/SA trigger system and a 15 round detachable box magazine in 9mm. The Browning HiPower ticks all those boxes save for one, the capacity. Still, it surpassed the 10 round limit of guns like the savage and Mauser C96. Would’ve been neat if the original RE2 gave the Browning HiPower extra attachments to find, like say an extended mag and a compensator is always nice. Too bad the remake didn’t even bother with a compensator either. “Increase accuracy by reducing recoil helping with faster shot placements” could’ve been the in game added benefit of such an attachment. Oh yeah, and the OG Lara Croft was another femme fatale famous for being armed with the Browning HiPower, of course she duel wielded them. Because the only thing better than one HiPower is two. lol

Revelations 2 has a lot of unused weapon related content. you know the raid mode exclusive weapons all have unique properties and descriptions in story mode? The Colt Anaconda is also classified as an EX weapon in story mode, even though it lacks a description (it uses a placeholder one) and infinite ammo by default. It's also far stronger than the unused story version of the Pale Rider. As with all weapons in story mode, activating infinite ammo for every weapon, will activate it for all of these guns as well. (even the Anaconda, which probably was meant to have it to begin with)

7:28 I wonder what gun this is. Seeing its weird shape, and knowing that Capcom was big into obscure guns, the first thing that comes to mind is the M6 survival weapon. The real thing is a weird over-under 22/410. The capacity of 7 rounds kinda goes against this though, as it's only a single shot... but on the other hand, it is an over-under, like the hunting gun eventually was. Another guess I can make, and I'm squinting hard so its a stretch... is a nickeled Mauser 712 carbine? It's not impossible, some fancy aristocrat types were on the Ecliptic Express. It's fun to speculate.

I really wish RE4 remake had an actual Silver Ghost as an unlockable bonus weapon or something. We start the game with a weapon that’s awfully close but it’s not the same.
