LOVE Ashford and Simpson, but I LUUUUV Sylvester’s cover of their song. I’ll play it all day if and when it comes across my mind (horns, strings and background are awesome)🎉😊

This song is great, it allways brings a tear to my jaw, but I preffer the Sylvester version

REALLY this is really nothing to argue over. Ashford and Simpson wrote this. ITS THEIRS! SYLVESTER COVERED it and made his OWN VERSION. HIS VERSION Sold way more copies BUT I am sure AS got paid from it. Many people covered A&S version just like many people covered Sylvester's Version. JUST ENJOY THEM!!!

There''s Marvin & Tammi, there's Roberta and Donnie; then there's Ashford & Simpson--not in any particular order, but definitely my favorite duos on the planet!

Everybody has there own opinion and that is there perogative, and although I do like Sylvester's version and i like Sylvester... I still say that A&S is the ultimate version of this song... sorry... just my personal opionion... and again I could be a little prejudice cause I am DEFINATELY a ASHFORD & SIMPSON fan. I love there interpretations and they're arrangements probably because the are the Writers, Arranger and Producer and to me that means more than somebody interpreting somebody else's body of work. A&S are definately ORIGINAL & CREATIVE. RIP Nick...Love ya VAL.. GOD BLESS

True and no disrespect, Sylvesters version is also fully credited to Ashford and Simpson. The feel that Sylvester has put in his version has a quality that raised the song of A&S to a another level at least in my perception.

Ashford and Simpson sings the song with the Assurance of a loving relationship. Sylvester sings it with the Frantic energy needed to find it. so the version we prefer might reflect Where We Are.

Ashford & Simpson did the original. Sylvester's was a cover.

So what? They're songwriters - the general idea is that others interpret their music. That's their business. Sylvester gave his own interpretation, he didn't copy what they did.
