It's at times like these that we remember that the Traveler is definitely not a self-insert and there's a lot that the story is hiding from us about him.

Im so glad im not the only one constatly driven insane by this. I understand why were not allowed to, but i wish we could at least ask sometimes, even if were not given any clear answers. the stuff that is written in character stories and dialogues are considered canon conversation between us and the characters. so yeah, sometimes the Traveler just asked the wrong question (for us, as players. but not for them.) and sometimes the archons just stay shut or answer in the most riddle way.

There's something that is unrelated to the topic, about Teyvat's LeyLine, someone in the comment mentioned it and it got me thinking. In 5.3 Lantern Rite at the end, Ningguan says how both Natlan and Liyue experienced some strange crisis related to each Nation's leylines about life & death, and how it could be a prob;em across all Teyvat. Having that in mind, go back to the end of 4.8 event, Wanderer inform Albedo that he heard about the real Durin returning back to life ---> Mondstadt's Leyline for life & death will be affected in the future 5.4 Special Program for the Inazuma event, Raiden is investigating something related to an old dead friend of her --> Inazuma's leylines for life & death might be the next affected ones.

6:05 I agree with the main point of Chaac=Xbalanque BUT The part that was just said just seconds before that timestamp would mean that the People of the Springs were established first (Ashikai literally claims that), and then the tribe of Hanan Pacha. And there isn't matter to say that the tribe of Hanan Pacha is the People of the Springs, because the Records of Hanan Pacha starts by mentioning it being the story of the tribe having been built, having risen up, and having scattered. The problem is, in the Records, it is also mentioned that Hanan Pacha was the first tribe: "And under the leadership of Waxaklahun Ubah Kan, the people founded the first permanently settled tribe upon Hanan Pacha." (The very end of Volume 2) Also, it would have been nice to have mentioned earlier that the name Chaac appears in that artifact description and in the Records, for those who wouldn't have read them yet. (for any reason, honestly, we can't all think about reading every artifact description and book all the time) Because I was 'who the fuck is this Jacques? Chalk maybe?' and I had to go search in the comments to find the spelling so that I could search for where the name comes from, because I knew that I wouldn't have been able to follow after if I didn't know who it was. Also also, I get the reason for using the cutscene about the first xhief of the People of the Springs at that time. But, I was under the impression that the first chief was the one who established the tribe, because of how it developped into a proper tribe in that very cutscene. And its only 5 minutes later that the distinction is made. How? By only writing 'placeholder, not Chaac' in a corner, and mostly hidden when the subtitles are on (I have to have them on to fully follow through, not that I complain about the speed, I like it like that, but sometimes, my brain just doesn't follow), so the false impression would mostly stay, and confuse those that might not pay attention to all the details. So, not only does that entire point personally feel rushed or badly done, but it is also wrong. I know that it's not the main point and that the theory still stands, but small errors like that are what distorts history in the end, like Xilonen kinda mentioned in her character trailer, when she was forging the ancient name 'Muongozo'. In the end, great theory, even if it doesn't bring anything that could be used for predictions, but once in a while, it feels good. I would have wished that the point I brought up was done better, and so that I wouldn't have had to mention it to begin with, but that isn't important compared to the theory. And finally a theory that isn't really long, one step in the direction of taking the time to breathe a bit with Genshin content, we all love to see that.

Which seems ironic because it is something that Natlan reveres and values. Like the island beyond the fog - if we clear the fog people don't even know it was there.

3:35 In fact it has to be 2000 years ago when the Archon war had ended (in all nations) or else Xbalanque couldn't have attended any meeting of the Seven. If he was born 3000 years ago he'd be 1000 years old at that first meeting of the Original Seven and we're told the Pyro Archons don't live longer lives than regular humans. Either that or Natlan retcons the last four years of lore. Which is a possibility sadly.

The “Ronova deal after the defeat of Xuihcoatl” part makes no sense though. This only works if Ronova gave Xbalanque power BEFORE the fight with Xuihcoatl, but the rules of Natlan were established in a second conversation AFTER the fight.

I am convinced Though I still want to believe that besides Chaac, Xbalanque is also the 3rd Descender. 1. He wasn't part of any prophecy, like the Traveler 2. He defeat the PYRO SOVEREIGN. That's not a feat for any random human, with Ubah Kan's help or not. 3. He as the first to wield Phlogiston, the predecessor of Teyvat's 7 Elements. And we know the 3rd Descender was compatible with the 7 Elements like the Traveler 4. If Ronova could preserve Xbalanque's soul to bring him back in the future, why woudln't she be able to also preserve his body? Oh yeah, his body was chopped into pieces to make the gnoses :)

Oooooh. 😂. I must have been rushing so much through that region to get the rewards. For some reason I came away from that thinking Xbalanque was Och’s Dragon parent. I thought it essentially said that Xbalanque was actually a dragon and that the idea he was human was a lie told to Nathan to give them hope. He then passed the legacy onto his son who was half dragon and acted as the bridge between humans and dragons. Wow I need to stop fan writing the lines in my head 😅.

Also...If capitano wanted to help Natlan, why did he not just go to Mavuika, reveal that he wants to help Natlan. Mavuika becomes wary, as to why would the harbinger of Fatui wanna help Natlan? Then he reveals that he is Thrain and that he has deeper relations to Natlan. Mavuika respected thrain a lot, because he fought in the same time as she did. She would have gladly accepted his help and collaborated with him. Why did he have to just go, call her years of sacrifice worthless, and attempt to snatch the gnosis? Its like bro you are just starting out on the wrong foot already..she has just left her family, seen her people and friends die, put up a monumental resistance that led to her almost dying too..then she puts her life in the flames, dying...then she is conscious for the 500 years that she is traveling to the future agonizing waiting for these 500 years to end..then she decides to put in all her work preparing natlan for war..without ever letting her past bother her people..and then when she is prepared to sacrifice her power to save her people..a high ranking member of an infamous terrorist organization barges in..calls her sacrifice and plans worthless...demands that she hands over the gnosis and "save her nation"...bruhhh..i m sorry my captain..but if you are like that and Guthred was also a "we ll take it by force if need be" guy...I cant imagine how your negotiations went on missions.😮‍💨 Like he could have started with "Mavuika. Bad writing is how. If they really wanted to have them fight to show off Mavuika's strength they could've simply have her doubt his words and have her ask for a duel to prove whether he is Thrain or not. Even worse is as you mentioned with Thrains past negotiations, the way he is written makes him seem incompetent at his preferred approach while still being a Harbinger. Not only does it reflect badly on him but on all Harbingers.

@Teivy precisely. This is why his ending feels...weird to me. First he antagonizes the leader who is putting her very life on the line to save her nation. Then he steals her thunder and glory at the very last moment. I understand capitano had been through a lot in the last 500 years..but so had Mavuika. Unlike capitano who had more "resources" thanks to fatui and their intel, she had herself to prepare natlan for war. The three scholars that capitano "just found" coincidentally, that told him about the secret source mechanism is also very sus. Mavuika has very close ties in all tribes. Plus she has been very thorough with her plans. There is no way she missed not one but three crucial scholars. Heck, she hadnt even heard of them? Its impossible. I am in favor of the theory that it is indeed Waxaklahum Uba Kahn posing as the scholars to guide Capitano..this is why Mavuika couldnt find any of them.(ps there is a theory thay Waxaklahum Uba Kahn is actually taking form of Manku, Titu, etc to guide us and our baby tepetlisaur on the journey to the volcano...since if you do the ochkanatlan quest, you find out that Manku, Titu and one more guy from Scions of Canopy were in ochkanatlan centuries ago amd died there. All three of them do a somewhat important world quest related to our tepetlisaur companion....it is not a coincidence that thrrr people from centuries ago reincarnated with same appearance and name.. unless someone who saw them before they died is impersonating them to guide us..and only the python dragon sage waxaklahun uba kahn fit this bill)..what if the three scholars that capitano met were a similar case? Those threr scholars dont exist anymore..they died 1000s yeara ago..and some dragon is impersonating them..afterall secret source mechanism was the technology of the dragons..who else would know its intricate usage and location?

I think capitano came with the intent to steal the gnosis and use it to proceed with his plans. I don't think that the possibility of using the curse of immortality or the lord of the night even came into consideration until he was able to wake her up and speak with her. So some of the points are covered there. Also there is no reason he should feel that mauvika was in control of the situation or she has done a good job when he first met her. The abyss problem was at the brink of completely coming out and causing another cataclysm, it's absolutely not fair to think he should have thought about collaboration when he already thought she was too "soft" to go with the gnosis plan. And at the end that was for no way for saving mauvika, that sacrifice was for him and his fellow warriors alone. Sure mauvika benefits from the situation but he didn't do it for her.

You cannot just barge in and criticize mavuika of not doing her job properly when you yourself are in the upper ranks of a militia/terrorist organization. Not to menfion, even Capitano was not helping Natlan for thr last 500 years. He was busy doing his own thing and came to natlan just now(after the last Wienlesefest event). So its not like Capitano has done anything for thr past 500 years to deal with abyss. Not that we know of atleast. It felt hypocritical that he just strolls in, and instead of collaboratinf just decides to take matters into his own hands. Without knowing your identity, why would I hand the key to my home to you? Hoping that you would save it? His approach was flawed from tbe very beginning. I respect him for what he did for his soldiers but i cant help but feel thst Mavuika is the one who burned herself all this time and Capitano just swooped in to snatch the glory from her.

And he again had two motives his own and saving the world. He tried other nations but failed and came back to natlan to try. He was also not in on the plan for her to go 500 years into the future to try this hero's plan. So in his perspective after failing to prevent almost a complete destruction of naltan 500 years ago mauvika is somehow the archon again and is still waiting for some random hero to pop up out of nowhere instead of trying to fix the issue now, no matter the cost. Just imagine how crushing it is for him to see another tragedy looming like he witnessed in khanreiah be repeated again. I would also want to dethrone the leader who's being doing nothing for the last 500 years and try to put a stop to it on my own

Ok i have a very big question. We have been hearing that 2000 years ago, a massive war ended. The gods of various lands battled till the last seven were standing. and those 7 were granted..the gnosis. Why have we never heard of archon war in Natlan? Remus ran to Fontaine, because he did not want to fight or be subservient to Deshret, so he went to fontaine and try his luck..but why not go to Natlan? Natlan has no "gods" to speak of, he would have won by default. And going from Desert to Natlan is quite frankly just as easy as it is to go to Fontaine. In mond, Decarabian and Andrius were the two main candidates. Decarabian was sealed/killed in a rebellion and Andrius decided he is not worthy and so sacrificed himself for Mondstadt, making Barbatos the sole winner. In Liyue, Zhongli just rampaged and crushed god after god. In Inazuma, Ei and Makoto crushed all competition and then Ei sacrifices her body to make Makoto the sole "survivor". In sumeru, the three god kings decide to collaborate and co-rule. However with time, both Deshret and Nabu Malikata met their end, making Rukkhadevata the sole winner. In Egeria, Remus sacrificed himself and the lochknights put Egeria on the throne. But what about Natlan? We know that Xbalanque became the first archon around 2000 years ago..but why him? How did he gain the gnosis? How did he even manage to contact Ronova to begin with? Surely Xiuhcoatl vs Xbalanque cant be the archon war of natlan, as Xiuhcoatl is not a candidate anyway. He was the decaying version of his former self, who was just on his last legs..and he was a sovereign. Celestia would have rather nuked Natlan as well before they agreed to give gnosis to a sovereign dragon lmao. So 1 - what was the archon war of Natlan? Why and how was a human even chosen? Did the lord of the night/angel arranged the meeting between Ronova and Xbalanque? What actually happened all those years ago? 2- Why was Ei and Andrius somewhat forced to discard their bodies to make Makoto and Barbatos the archons? Why couldn't they have swore an oath of alliance or subservience or something of that sort? Does the Gnosis can only be wielded by someone with the true body of a "god"? Is that why Venti, Mavuika and Zhongli kept the gnosis on their person, while Ei just handed it to Miko because it wasn't of any "use" to her? But then Akasha and Mechanique d'analyse both were able to make use of the gnosis. And wanderer's original body couldn't assimilate with the gnosis, but his "God robot body" could. How does that work? 3- If the gnosis was formed from a descender, will combining all seven gnosis result in the power of descenders..aka the ability to manipulate leylines? And the final war will be the battle between 4 beings with power over ley lines...Traveler as fourth descender, heavenly principles as first descender, tsaritsa with the seven gnosis and abyss sibling with the loom of fate? 4- Since night kingdom is a very rudimentary version of Irminsul. Lord of the night is like the admin of night kingdom just like Nahida is to irminsul. Night kingdom cannot track the traveler BUT lord of the night can indeed record the travelers deed via a scroll. Basically it wont happen automatically but it can be done manually. Does this mean that while Irminsul cannot automatically record us, can Nahida or someone with power over irminsul can make it so that we are recorded? Also if all souls and memories flow through ley lines, shouldn't the memories of dead people whom we met like lets say Teppei be in the irminsul? Meaning we ARE in irminsul, just not as us, but rather in the memories of other people who passed on. This is why Nahida couldn't find info on us, because we don't exist in irminsul, but we exist in the memories within irminsul at a very deeper level. 5- Why are none of the archons trying to help other nations? If natlan got fcked this time, it was only a matter of time before Sumeru falls too. Young nahida is no rukkhadevata. Her powers haven't matured yet and she is no where near her prime. How would she have tackled the issue if Natlan fell? Same for Zhongli..currently there are no threats in Liyue, he should have left, take form of some other god/creature and help in the war..? Is there a bigger picture not being shown to us? I understand that within natlan, Natlanese are ultimate soldiers thanks to ode of resurrection, but surely some beings like adepti or gods could have provided some aid.

so many interesting insights and questions! I wonder if archons are not allowed to participate in anything outside their territories? but we've seen Zhongli in Mondstadt, and Venti in Inazuma, and Neuvillette/Furina in Liyue.. so who knows really?

@surreabel actually neuvi and furina get a pass. Neuvi does not fall under any law posed by celestia as he is not part of their system. Furina is a human(she was always a human...focalors the spirit/divinity was the archon). So furina is just that... a normal human forced to live long. So they can traverse as they please. But yes for others it doesnt make sense. I mean venti has travelled to liyue a lot of times in the past and even helped xiao a few times. Once in the past Barbatos asked for Morax, and morax rushed immediately thinking that some calamity has befalled mond and barbatos needs his help, only to find out that Barbatos just wanted to drink with him lmao. But yes this does prove that they have the authority to cross borders to help each other(either that or morax was prepared to face celestia after helping his neighbour lol)

@@apoorvjoshi2383 oh yeah I completely forgot about the lantern rite celebration with the uncomfortable Xiao and Zhongli Venti Hu Tao foolery as well 😂 btw I thought Furina's pretension of being the archon may have made her also be somewhat answerable to Celestia (although as Abyss Twin said they are asleep hence nothing happened, probably Focalors knew that, still didn't wanna risk it hence asked Furina to suffer for 500 years -_-) or at least Neuv should be if not Furina since he has the authority of hydro now.. I was never really sure how all of those things fully work though.
