Honestly, that’s a sad end. The Gold Hoarder was one of my favourite characters in sea of thieves, and unlike Flameheart or The Captain, he was an actual villain that appeared several times in the story, with an actual explanation, (cough) Siren Queen. The Gold Hoarder deserved a better end than just being welded to a stick made of coral. RIP

Lore wise...so many dead ends, unfulfilled promises, incoherence, and missed/blown opportunities. Breaks my heart. It's now so far beyond ever truly righting the ship, that the closest thing we'll ever get to a satisfying ending (for this labyrinthine PL/FH arc alone), is something akin to the end of Return of the Jedi. And that's not a good thing. If that.
