I have got to say just how much appreciation I have for Frederic's absolutely solid guitar skills. He is an unassuming genius with an intricate delicate touch that matches Aurora so well. She always surrounds herself with such good musicians and creates such wonderful soundscapes together.

Well after finally seeing her live & watching these videos captured live, I think I can say that (much like The Warning) this is what I prefer. Not that either artist is bad in the studio, it’s just that something special happens when they perform live. This is no exception, it’s beautiful. ❤ Great reaction, Ash. Get better soon.

"I hope I don't cry". Why? I hope I DO cry, it shows the artist has succeeded. At least I don't have make up to run and tears dry. You have noticed that you feel different to Aurora, post concert. This is normal and a permanent change.

It's so wonderful to see how you interact with music, Ashlena😍. I agree her background vocalists are insanely good. Probably among the best in the music business. And they match her voice so magically well. While recording, however, she does all the backing tracks herself.

Yes that I know. Her albums are phenomenal with her voice on the harmonies but her backup vocalists do an amazing job

A beautiful version and yes, the backing vocals are spectacular. Sadly the camera shot is so tight on Aurora for most of the video that we don't get to see Amalie much. She spends most of the time out of shot on the right so it's unclear how she and Thea are sharing the load, although it does sound like two backing vocals for most of the time. I have seen Thea perform live and she is excellent (even a fire alarm interruption did not phase her ☺), perhaps you should look at some of her solo work ...

This isn't as intimate as some of the live versions she's done, but I love the production. Amalie and Thea really stand out on both Amazon performances. Aurora does her own female backing vocals in the studio, so they pretty much have to be great live, to be any use to her. And clearly they are.

Happy Aurora tuesday.☺ Hmm..You said you reacted to "The Dark Dresses Lightly" but I can't play it? Weird because the music video isn't blocked in Norway. This song is sooo beautiful. She did it when I saw her live. Different version again than this, and my gosh... It was just stunning. I'm so glad to hear that you keep giving Thea and Amalie credit.You might have noticed when you saw Aurora live that she give them space to "show off" their talent in most songs. I love that about her. They have both been her support band on tour too. And btw Thea had a small concert on her own in Toronto the day before Aurora's show. 🙂

I haven't had time to watch your reaction yet but here's what I think. I felt like there was something off about the audio especially when I was listening with headphones. Idk how to explain it but Aurora still sounds amazing
@art_by_accident16 сағат бұрын
I've seen some comments that the production sounds a bit flat and "un-auroraish". Some blame it on the mike, but there's a more likely explanation. I have a small but nagging suspicion that this has been pitch corrected in post, by some ignorant and insensitive producer/engineer who thinks it's more important to stare at graphs rather than actually listening to the music. Pitch correction (not to mention autotune) kills expression. Pitch correction is ubiquitous now and has become the industry standard in music production - meaning that artists really have to be all over the production process simply to *prevent* it from happening. Someone will sneak in and do it, usually without the artist's knowledge. To the music industry, it's a godsend, because it makes everybody sound identical, and that means they can sell *anyone*. To hear the pure and genuine Aurora, without any pitch correction, go to the many audience recordings from her recent shows. That makes you realize what a crime it is to pitch correct the great singers. Anyway, I hope I'm wrong...

I definitely need to relisten to this

@@ashlenamusic I don't blame you at all. It is still a miraculously beautiful song, and nothing can _really_ destroy Aurora's voice. This is still in a league above most other music out there :-) And now, you also know what Aurora sounds like live, without any fakery! I really enjoyed you concert vlog. This pitch "correction" thing is a stealth enemy, because it's extremely difficult to put your finger on without actually analyzing. I wouldn't have suggested this if I hadn't been primed by watching a lot of videos on the Wings of Pegasus youtube channel. The guy running it is a musician and singer himself and the site is devoted to analyzing live vocal performances for autotune, pitch correction and lip-syncing - with the occasional hooray when he discovers an actual live performance. His taste is pretty old-school 70s-80s, so he hasn't gotten to Aurora yet ;-) But the work he does is absolutely brilliant.

Unfortunately I'm not happy about the sound engineering of her voice in the two Curved performances. It might be that red mic, but I think it's a combination of bad sound engineering and a mic that doesn't sound good together with her voice and how close she like to be to the mic.
@i_d_i_e_hКүн бұрын
It's her own personal mic that she use on tour, so it's def nothing wrong with it. She sound amazing live.

I tend to agree, but I think there's a simpler explanation. See my longer comment above.
