You can see how much Ahsoka means to Ashley. Ashley will always be “Ahsoka” to me. I heard her voice every single week for a huge chunk of my childhood, and even if Rosario plays the live action version for a decade+, Ashley will still be my number 1 Maybe they chose Rosario for live action because Ashley doesn’t have as much experience in that side of acting, but I can guarantee Ashley would’ve been practicing and learning and improving for sleepless days and nights to absolutely perfect the role if she ever got the call. I can guarantee she would’ve put in the work to learn stunts and learn every single aspect of live action if they’d only given her a chance.

Ahsoka has become my absolute favorite character in all of Star Wars and it’s because of the animated version, Ashley is goddamn amazing and this interview just made me realize that it was the love she put into that character that made me appreciate it so much. Ashley is the young Ashoka and we watched her Ashoka into an Adult. Rosario for me is the older Ashoka. I met Rosario at Celebration and She loves this character as much as Ashley. We are blessed to have 2 people who love Ashoka. Rosario will make us proud as she takes the torch from Ashley.

At first I was a lil disappointed when I heard Ashely wouldn’t play live action ahsoka. But then I thought ab it for an extra 5 minutes and thought it was the right thing to do to cast Rosario. 1) she fits the physique more. 2) far more talented in the live action realm 3) Ashley doesn’t look like Ahsoka. Personally, when I think of Ahsoka, forever and always I will think ab Ashely’s Clone Wars/Rebels version, but I’m satisfied with the choice Dave Filoni made. :)

Rosario has complimented Ashley's Ahsoka and is following Ashley on Instagram but Ashley hasn't said anything about Rosario or followed her back at all. I think Ashley just doesn't like the idea of someone else playing her that's why.

I think a VA and live action actor for the roles is the best approach, with Ahsoka, Hayden and Matt, Ray and Sam, Temeura and Dee, and so on, they are two different types of acting, and unless somebody is a veteran at both, or has an iconic voice, like Ian Mcdiarmid, Liam Neeson, Christopher Lee, RIP, and others, I like having two actors, or maybe with someone like Anakin, Matt has the hero Anakin voice, whereas Hayden has the physical and facial acting down, portraying two different Anakin’s, and honoring legacy characters is fine, but you should always pick the best person for the job, why I love Andor, Mando season 1, Eclipse, Fallen Order, and the other non cameo and fan service stuff, it’s way higher quality, feels realistic, and doesn’t just appeal to nostalgia. And with Savannah Steyn playing young Ahsoka, Rosario playing old Ahsoka, I would say put some makeup on Ashley and see how she looks, and then maybe use her as rebels middle ground ahsoka for the live action version of twillight of the apprentice…

Rosario Dawson is a badass Latina actress but Ashley Eckstein is Ahsoka Tano in every way possible. Ashely is the soul of Ahsoka and she more than earned a chance to play the live role of Ahsoka. Dave Filoni should know better.

It concerns me that Rosario never reached out to Ashley to talk about Ahsoka. That is just seems to be disrespectful to Ashley, even though Ashley takes it in stride. Staying that, I have no disrespect for Rosario as an actress but Ashley is Ahsoka - the personality, the character whatever you want to call it she is and forever will be Ahsoka and no one can replace her as Ahsoka. Rosario my play her as the live action, but she can't replace the personality that Ashley brought to the character. Just a note, you can see that Ahsoka look was based on Ashely's facial features.

You can feel her pain in the answer, like shes coming to grips with the idea that ahsoka is bigger than her performance. Even that is hard for me as a fan to accept. It's just that's what kind of sets it apart because Matt Lanter isnt going to go and play Anakin because he isnt the original one on screen. Rosario might look kind of like Ahsoka but I dont think shes bringing the energy I loved in Ashley's performance. Rosario comes across as really smug and self assured to me.

It's too bad she is not the live action Ahsoka. I love Ms Dawson, but it is because of star power or this is an older Ahsoka? Just curious about the decision because Ms Eckstein built this character with the animators. She should have been given a chance to tey out for that role. She is a great Star Wars ambassador. She is like Peter Cullen and Optimus Prime. Hope she keeps the job in any future animation.
