Yup, usually when someone leaves and jumps around first it means that person wasn’t very invested emotionally and always knew a way out from you and the relationship. These people are so deceptive because they play roles for short times and rinse repeat on the new person. Alot of people are so obsessed with cupcake phases and perfectionism they’ll jump from person to person to get it, sometimes it really isn’t you and just the other person’s mindset or lack of. We all have taken someone for granted once.

That may not be true. If one person in the relationship was cold, was rejecting the other person, the person that was being rejected all of the time may well have processed the emotions of the end of the relationship long ago, the breakup is the last step of the healing process. I tolerate such bad treatment that I didn’t even realize until I was in a healthy relationship. Reflecting back on where I was at when I first wrote this comment, I am a new person now. This last relationship ended 7 months ago and I’m only now starting to process because for all that time I was holding out hope for us to one day get back together (and certain mixed signals from him didnt help either). Now that I’m starting to process it feels like day 2 because essentially it is day 2 for me. I found out he moved on despite his confusing comments toward me about us in the future and that made it all the more harder. Reading your comment gives me hope that it will get better as time passes, because right now at times it feels like never ending pain. We were together for 11 years. I’m 32 and wanted to have a family and children in my 30s. Trying to just heal and let go of that dream now and be realistic with myself.

Well, it's been 8 months since the break up, some days I feel totally fine and then others I feel like I'm back to square one and it hurts as if it had just happened (but those days are getting more and more rare, so yay!). What's helped me the most has been to just focus on myself and surround myself with people who love me and not be scared of being a bit more selfish than usual. And most importantly, cutting my ex from my life completely, even though we broke up on really good terms. Seeing him just brings all the memories back, it makes me want to live in the past and it gives me some false sense of hope. So yeah, learn from my mistakes and put your well-being first. :) I hope you are surrounded with love and you heal as quickly as possible. ♥️

Everyone has their own length of the relationship, level of intensity, ability to detach, every story is different. I know it’s hard to imagine a future without the guy you had planned your entire life with already. You are mourning the future you had in your head with him and now that he is gone you feel empty and loss. I still get like that some days. What has helped me is revisiting the goals I had before I met him. I started to ask myself again what I wanted in life and stopped putting some guy next to me. The right person I’ll find along my journey. It’s hard and don’t feel the need to wake up one day and have it all figured out. You’re very welcome! This is such a powerful insight. It’s amazing that you recognize your unresolved feelings are entirely to do with your own wounds around abandonment, as opposed to your ex themself. Have you ever heard of the term “shadow work” in relation to therapy? If not, I would check out Rising Woman’s Instagram page, as this is something they talk about a lot. I’m pretty sure they run online courses as well! Participating in something like that may help you to really get to the root of those abandonment fears and allow you to bring understanding and healing to them.

I saw a picture of her and the new guy , and it totally destroyed me. She never posted about me on Facebook, and she looks so happy. Felt like all my healing went back to square one. My advice is to not check their social media. I know it's hard, I'm still going through it. We dated for 1.5 years and this guy has only been with her a few months, makes me question everything. Healing from this one will likely take some serious time, so please be patient with yourself. Inês L it’s not your fault at all! We go through ups and downs in a relationship and if they couldn’t deal with a down time with you, they weren’t the right person for you. You learn from this relationship and carry it into the next. Sharing insecurities with your partner is important and if they can’t handle understanding and talking to you about it I think you’ll find someone that will.

I think you’re being too hard on yourself. I just got broken up with too. But I’ve been in therapy for years, and my therapist talks about how we usually pick a certain type of person, and it’s based on a lot of things in our upbringing. I think it’s more likely to say that your ex will pick someone similar to you. You shouldn’t be thinking that the next person will be so different and better than you in some way. It’s also not good to keep thinking about what you did or didn’t do wrong. All you can change is the present. And my instinct would be to ask yourself why were you feeling insecure with this person? I felt insecure with my ex. And that’s because he was lying a lot towards the end to me, and not answering phone calls or text for long periods of time. He was giving me reasons to worry and feel insecure. So it wouldn’t be fair to blame everything on myself. I hope some of this makes you feel better.

Thank you for this video. This is pure hell on earth. My emotions are raw, and the pain is bone deep. I even feel myself taking shorter breaths. I'm in the kitchen washing dishes with tears welling up in my eyes listening to this. I feel very rejected. It's hard to accept she's chosen someone else over me. I know there is validity to the ideal match point. I know I eventually get through this but I hate going through it. This still hurts like a mother. this this this. We were together three and a half months (high school relationship) and while she initiated the breakup, I was *this* close to ending it myself. She just beat me to it. We were both pretty narcissistic and had little to give one another other than materialistic gifts. Her toxicity and trying to make herself out to be so much better than everyone else made me feel very insecure and not good enough for her (i mean, if nobody else is good enough for her, then why should I be?) which then brought out my toxic behavior of trying to put her down. Overall, awful, awful situation. We broke up on December 2 of '22 and now in March of '23 she has started dating the guy that she had a talking stage with a week before she started dating me over him because he was "too dull" for her. Now I feel like she's taking advantage of the fact that he will always be right there and easily exploited so she needs a date to the prom coming up next month, but it also seems like she's just moved way past me. Almost like she's saying "screw you, I was right the first time." It hurts, but I've got my own prom date and I'm leaving for college (she's a junior) in a few months anyway so it's not like I'll have to put up with it much longer but I still feel a stab in the heart whenever i see them walking together or her car parked next to his.

This is probably the most helpful video I’ve watched. I have no interest in getting my ex back, i care more about healing from the pain knowing she’s with someone else so quickly. Just imagining someone else kissing her, massaging her feet after work, or just making her smile is gut wrenching. The worst part is she moved on with someone that she knows me and this other person don’t really like each other much, it’s like sleeping with the enemy. But I’m definitely going to do the techniques in this video. I try not to think about it, but sometimes the thoughts just consume me. I feel love for his person and he feels sorry for me, so finally apologized for hurting me, and moved on with someone new. That's horrible. There's nothing to do therapy. It's called being in love with someone who not only doesn't feel anything else for you anymore, but also feels for someone else. It doesn't matter if she's pretty or ugly, nice or psycho...I love someone who doesn't love me anymore so I can never be with him again. It hits different when you were the one that left them, especially because I left my ex when I was 21, he was 25 and we were on different pages. He wanted to settle down and my life was just getting started. Knowing nothing big or bad happened, I loved him but I just had to leave to explore my full potential… finding myself, getting to a place where I want commitment & then finding he’s with someone else.. brutal. Just brutal.

I agree with the part where you spoke about how it's okay to admit if you aren't ready to move on yet or that you still love them ... I've been in that boat for about the past one year now .. there really is no timeline. And my latest discovery is this : If you keep beating yourself up over every time you miss them/ remember a good or bad memory with them - what you're doing is essentially hammering the healing process. You have to sit with those feelings, without any judgement whatsoever. Because it is only when you let your soul feel those myriad emotions and then stumble upon the realisation that this particular relationship is over that you let the healing process progress and sink in ... Love your videos. Can't say I agree with the "better fit" argument. If they were toxic, carrying trauma and were emotionally distant, NO ONE is going to snap a magic button and all of a sudden, they'll be the way you envisioned they could be. Just the same pattern with a different face. No if both were relatively healthy, aware, and willing to work at their relationships...that's different

True! He is toxic, with tons of trauma and emotionally distant when that trauma resurfaces. But he found someone who would suck it all in just to be with him as she was chasing him for over a year. So I'm pretty sure it's going to last, no matter how destructive he can be.

My ex always has to be with someone. Even when him and I took breaks he would be talking to someone. Some guys just always need someone to feed their ego
