You also forgot to mention the once a day 540am flying Scotsman service from Edinburgh to London, with only 1 intermediate stop: Newcastle

elizabeth line is fully step free, being even better than LNER's step-free access as 9 of the stations on the elizabeth line are fully steo free, whereas none of LNER's is fully step-free (rather they are partially step-free and need a ramp)

Correction to the fleet list: the DVTs that go with the IC225 sets are Mk4 DVTs, nothing to do with Class 222. Important to note that GNER remained profitable and viable, but it was the parent company that folded, as it was losing too much money on its other ventures, so not the same as when National Express and then Virgin over-bid for it and failed. That route diagram is a very complicated way of saying "2tph London to Edinburgh with various stopping patterns, a few trains a day continue further / 2tph London to Leeds with alternating stopping patterns, some trains continue further / plus odds and sods to Lincoln, Hull, Middlesbrough and Sunderland" 🤣

It is the Cross Country route that's the longest in the UK. There are sadly always lots of errors in these videos.

Very good. I got a tear in my eye when you mentioned GNER towards the end. The best operator by far, totally shafted by the DfT.

Don’t wish to be too critical but there’s a few errors in the schedule provided here. The newest service is in fact the Middlesbrough, not the Sunderland. The latter started way back in 2015. The fast Edinburgh’s also run every hour and not every 2 hours as quoted in this. I think it was trying to be explained that the Aberdeen, Inverness and Stirling play into this but it’s not really how the schedule plays out with large gaps in the middle of the day. Again, the Leeds fasts are the same and run hourly, not 2 hourly. It’s only the Harrogate extensions that are every 2 hours. It does makes mention of these but it’s very poorly explained. I also feel it may have been useful to mention the fact the York stopper and Lincoln’s alternate to offer a combined hourly service from London to Newark and vice versa, but there is no mention of this either. As others have mentioned there is no mention of some of the other extra services such as the once a day Berwick to London service, the Flying Scotsman service, and also West Riding Limited which runs non stop from Wakefield to London.

I quite like LNER as they have expanded their network and they are to extend to Cleethorpes next year. I also do think that they should extend to Scarborough, Redcar, Hartlepool and Whitby.

I find it hard to believe there's any chance of running an Azuma along the Esk Valley line! And certainly not worth it given the small number of passengers. Far better for Northern to focus on improving their offer on the line. All very well wanting LNER to branch out, but paths out of Kings Cross are in short supply, between the 5tph that LNER already run, plus Hull Trains, Grand Central, Lumo, Thameslink and Great Northern. There's more prospect of regular journeys to Bradford or Huddersfield by extending Leeds services than new routes that would require additional paths. The best bet there would be to take one of the Lincoln paths and run doubled up as far as Newark, then split with one unit running to Lincoln and the other continuing further north - but realistically I can't see there being enough demand on most of those routes.

Hull trains should extended to Scarborough from Hull/Beverley
@stevieinselby
@stevieinselby Жыл бұрын
@@chiefpred9982 Why? Passengers travelling from Scarborough to London would have a quicker journey changing at York. If improvements are needed on the Yorkshire Coast line, and if the single track sections can support more trains, then Northern should run them.

When showing the service to Bradford Foster Square, you show that the service does not serve Shipley, when in fact it does, but only to take passengers from Shipley to London and vice versa.

LNWR would be done with WMR, cuz they both operate under the West Midlands Trains brand. And, there isn’t too many routes, and no “once a day” service.

For the LNER ticket cost example; you said £222 for a single, then said there was no return offer, so a return would cost double that; "£441". £222 x 2 is not £441! Also, you stated that the Driving Van Trailers that operate with the Class 91 sets was "Class 222" ?? Not sure where that came from. Class 222 is the EMR Meridian. The 91 DVTs are categorized as Class 82.
