Ive really been loving a golgari ramp/reanimator deck featuring live or die for instant speed reanimates, virtue of persistence as removal/reanimate, and the 3 drop ramp/food+ramp. Top end threats: valgavoth, atraxa, phyrexian fleshgorger. Super resilient against GY hate since hauntwoods turn on attaxa hard cast, and the ramp means your reanimation is a secondary gameplan. The 2 mana creatuee w/kicker 4 for reanimate is amazing against aggro as it has lifesteal and menace too

I'm SO glad your chat and you both have seen how mono-Red's design (which is a prime example of the problems with the creature design WotC have been doing since at least Eldraine) is warping the entire meta into one where creatures are either insane value or aggro because the removal has to immediately blow up the creatures or you die. It's a real sad format atm. Also you should consider once a week running a Pioneer deck on this channel in order to give more varied content, the format is really wide open right now and super interesting.
