I have been decluttering a lot of stuff since the beginning of the year, but some things I still need to tackle are the junk drawers.. yes.. that's plural. I need to declutter the TWO junk drawers we have. I've been putting it off. I also need to declutter the workout equipment we don't use. We need to make a dump run soon too to get rid of two appliances we have that are broken, an old cube freezer, and a microwave/range. We haven't been able to do that recently because of Covid, but we will be able to soon.

I recently decluttered 12 books, 4 sheets, a totes of yarn and some other miscellaneous items that were in a huge pile in my bedroom. I went to my local Walmart and purchased 4 3-drawer towers to organize what was left. I still have more to do but progress is being made.

Hi! I know you have talked about ways to responsibly declutter in the past, but I wanted to let anyone in the comments know that there are companies like Knickey that allow you to recycle your old underwear, socks, and bras. I’m planning on sending in a box to them soon! Knickey also gives you a coupon for a free pair of undies.

My paper clutter and clothing (including bags and shoes) for SURE is what I want to declutter heavily in 2021, especially with the possibility of moving states. I decluttered easily 1/4 of my belongings before I moved into this apartment and haven't really purchased too many new clothes (and no new shoes at all) since then, but I'm still overwhelmed lol. And my PAPER CLUTTER... I have a shelf unit I want to get rid of so badly but it's full of documents, art supplies, etc!!! The bane of my existence lol.

I found you 6+ months ago. I have watched many of ur decluttering videos. This is the first one where almost every single thing on this list applied to me. Feeling very exposed and vulnerable. Ashlynne you came at me HARD today. Other than socks, fridge, food storage, and 50-50 on hangers.... they all applied to me!!!

Also I want to declutter my accumulation of beauty/ skin&hair/fragrance/hygiene, products many of which were gifted or I was trying out etc. Iwas just talking to my hubby yesterday about the photos on my phone. I usually do an annual upload to the computer, and it's that time again.

My mom just finished a beautiful tapestry that she started while studying atomic physics. As it is a difficult college, she never managed to finish, but now that she is retired 45 years later, she is very proud of him, as I am. She intended to upholster the back of a large wooden antique chair with him. It will be a wonderful legacy that her grandchildren will later receive. :) Don't throw away unfinished projects!

I love these what to declutter videos. They're encouraging and I've often thought there's an idea. With coat hangers, i kept 7 in a different wardrobe so if any break I don't have to buy any and where my clothes are there is just enough for current clothes. A trick to the mind

Digital clutter on cell is really the only area I need to declutter. :) As for everything else I have already gone top to bottom of my home and decluttered getting rid of more then 50% of our items. I still go room to room daily to see what else I can let go of so the hangers is definitely my next let go of in the kids room. Thanks for the tips.

I am decluttering my digital photos. I take a lot of photos of clothes I sell and random things I have to remember. But sometimes I just wonder what I did a year ago and I scroll all the way back. But than I get reminded of the things I sold and the recipe I never made. And the nostalgic moment turns into an hour of decluttering :)

Can you do a video on how you decide whether you should sell, donate or throw something away? Like if it takes 2+ weeks to sell online do you just donate it or wait, hoping it will sell soon? And how do you decide what's too far gone to donate?

I thought I've decluttered a lot but as I've put everything into boxes for moving, I realized I still have ton of stuff. On the topic of sheets, I wanted to add that one set per bed only works for people with electric dryers. I hang dry my laundry, so sometimes they take days to dry if weather does not cooperate, and one set of sheets would mean I have to sleep on wet sheets or without any sheets... not fun.

My emails! I want to keep them in folders, but I have too many. I am making a goal to sort 10 old emails (plus any new one I get) each day until the inbox is empty. It might take a few years! 😅
@christinefindorff53283 жыл бұрын
I spent some time one day decluttering my email and unsubscribing to things and now I practice the “inbox zero” concept where everyday I make sure to either reply or read every message and email I get, and unsubscribe to any that are irrelevant. I went from getting many emails every day to just a handful. It’s so nice to have no unread emails at the end of the day, keep going! It’s so worth it!! You’ll feel so good once you’re finally done.

I can't get rid of my junk drawer. It holds random things where I don't have a spot to put them such as tape...both wrapping and mailing, black sharpie, 2 screwdrivers, scissors, lint roller, stick pin to take out the rare sliver, matches for my candles. It never holds trash or useless stuff and I know exactly where they are. My car only has what it needs in there. Paper has always been my downfall. I am NOT a fan of anything digital. I'm old school. LOL

Not a huge deal but watching this kind of hurt a bit because I feel like it's just encouraging people to chuck things they already own when they still could have been useful. Things like towels basically saying to get rid of what you don't use but besides things like animal shelters that aren't a ton of uses for them secondhand. Would rather see them get used until they are no longer functional. Otherwise good video a few things I hadn't thought of
