What’s one small thing you’ve done to simplify your life? 🤍
@amandalashley38193 жыл бұрын
I have a two week meal plan that we rotate through, I planned it out so that both weeks meals use the same ingredients so I'm buying the same ingredients each week. So I always know what we're going to eat and I don't have to sit down and plan it out each week. This has saved me so much stress, decision fatigue, time, and money because I'm way less likely to impulse buy food.

In one of your videos you said something like "replace instead of accumulate" and I have repeated that to myself when shopping. Not only has it saved me money but also prevents clutter. Thank you!

1. Create healthy meals 2. Delete unused apps 3. Put your clothe away immediately after folding 4. pay expenses annually 5. Spend less time cleaning 6. Get smart home technology 7. Use a colour pallete 8. Add reminders to your phone calendar 9. Stick with what works 10. Organize, backup and delete 11. Take care of mail immediately 12. Limit your screen time 13. Learn to pack light 14. Unfollow and unfriend 15. Live close to your work

This seems a little strange to say, but I started seeing a therapist. It’s an extra thing that I need to spend time and energy on, but I’ve been truly blessed to find someone who has been challenging my perceptions and helping to shift my perspective. I never thought I would feel as free as I do, now that I’m not in constant worry mode.

Such an inspiring video! My commute is the most depressing part of the day, the recent shift to remote working has been the best thing ever. I'm dreading when they tell us to go back
@camiluvya173 жыл бұрын
I was with you until the last one. I live in MA and living closer to certain cities are way too expensive for a lot of folks. Especially because really good jobs are in those locations. It would be so nice to never commute again but unfortunate some of us don’t get that luxury. Love the video otherwise 💜
@AshlynneEaton3 жыл бұрын
Thanks much for sharing this perspective! There definitely are situations that make that one impossible. 🤍

I agree that living close to work can be difficult which is why during my commute, instead of listening to the radio, I’d listen to podcasts, audiobooks or listen to youtube videos that don’t require a ton of visual attention like Ashlynn’s videos or Bailey Sarian’s ❤️
@DazzleDust323 жыл бұрын
Yes, definitely! In London, many of the jobs with large organisations are in zones 1 or 2. Even flats there are at least £2 million, which is out of the price range of most people.
@bysarahalexander44263 жыл бұрын
Same. I was on board until that one. Short commutes are a socioeconomic privilege in many cities. I understand the guidance to carefully consider location vs space, but some people simply cannot afford to live close to work no matter the size or condition of the unit.
@elainekrystel85913 жыл бұрын
Yes! Personally, I live near the beach and I love it. My job is about 1hour away, but i would never leave the area where I live just to get closer to my job (which is located in a mountain). I'd rather live where I want rather than sacrifice it for my job.

I’ve implemented several of the things from your (previous) videos such as: setting a morning/evening routine, keeping counters clear of clutter, taking breaks, saying “no” to extra, unnecessary tasks, picking out clothes the night before, etc. It’s made SUCH a difference, thank you so much!! 😩💖

I love the delayed start setting on my washer for this exact reason. Who wants wet clothes just sitting around wet if you know you won’t be there to put them in the dryer? I can still “start” a load before I leave the house and have it start the cycle just in time to finish when I return.

I don’t agree with the last one. I recently moved a bit further away from my job and now it takes me around 45 min. to get to work vs. the 20+ min. it was before and finally I have a commute time that allows me to enjoy the commute. When I was driving to work 20 min. I was loosing time with the drive since I didn’t have a chance to do anything while driving. It was a lost time. Now I’m able to listen to music or audiobooks or podcasts, making the time my own instead of loosing it. Just another perspective I guess.

I feel like the last tip is kind of elitist/out of touch. Not everyone has the luxury of living close to their work or working from home. If you can, that’s great, but not everyone can.

I agree with most of these ideas! 💕 I would love it if you could do a video on how to organize/declutter a computer using a hard drive - I have always found this difficult and scary to do cause I worry I will lose something transferring it over so would love advice and help there! ☺️ One way I have simplified is by not only decluttering but organizing so that I simply can do things without worrying where to find something - its amazing how having a home for everything makes a difference in your day.

For the commute part, we both work about 10-15 from our work but we want to buy an acreage for our commute will be about 40 minutes, anything less is crazy expensive and we could never afford it, we both work healthcare so no option to work remotely and my partner has to switch locations all over the city for their work every 5 years so cant really chose their commute unless we want to continue to rent for the rest of our lives. Also lots of people commute from far places out of necessity for pricing or they can never own. Its wasted time only if you look at it like that. I think I'll start listening to audiobooks, have time to relax after a long day, is listening to a podcasts or new music.

To 7: I just have to keep the bottom neutral - jeans, black or blue - then I can use any color top. I don't like wearing every color anyway, so I have a "natural" palette - when I just got around to weeding out everything (work in progress!) I don't really wear. Simplicity can be mindblowing!

I actually quite enjoy my commute, at least one the days where the train works correctly (on time, all train cars are there so that it's not crammed.) Although I have also worked within biking distance previously, and it's nice to be fully in control of when you arrive at work.

I did though really dislike the commute I had a few years ago, it was much shorter, but often crammed enough that you had to stand on the buss the entire way.

In the Philippines, commuting to work can get as long as 3 hours! 6 hours in a day! This is serious. This is not because your work is essentially far, rather it is due to heavy traffic. In fact, we measure the commute with "Time" than "Kilometer". So getting to work with in or less than 1 hour is a win!
