My rule as a minimalist is just to get organic decor that can be composted at the end of the season and doesn’t need to be stored. Ie. pumpkins, flowers, dried corn cobs, dried leaves, and gourds. Then if my style or space changes before the next year I’m not wasting the things I just stored all year.

Hi! I'm not a minimalist (yet) but I do this too and for the same reason - and also because it is more ecological and ethical than buying factory-made decor pieces that were probably made by underpaid workers in bad conditions. A good alternative could be to buy something beautiful made by a local artist with natural material, thus supporting local small businesses.

@@Audrey.17 ​ @Audrey Yes it is a way of seeing this, but I just can't bring myself to support child labor or any slave labor sweatshop like the ones in China for instance. If we keep buying from such sellers, it is a vicious circle and the situation will never change. Whenever possible, we need to find and support organisations that support exploited workers and their rights, and also need to buy local products so that our local businesses don't shut down or start importing from faraway sweatshops. I know it's a complicated situation and you made a good point, but being an accomplice of sweatshops doesn't seem the right answer at all. Especially for non-essential items like seasonal décor, which often ends up in landfill very quickly due to poor quality or changing trends.

You make decorating/home decor look so easy. When I “decorate” it just looks like a bunch of random seasonal items haphazardly placed everywhere & that’s after hours of trying to make it look good 😂. Also that water color you just whipped up while waiting for something to finish baking looks beautiful; 10 hours later I’d still be trying to make colorful circles 😂. You could actually sell those paintings. So beautiful! I loved this vlog. I am eating very low sugar most days but I am definitely planning some fall treats. One recipe I love is a pumpkin bread that has instant coconut pudding it it. It is so delicious and moist. I also plan to go hiking and go to a local gardens this fall. I have already done my autumn decorating. Also, Allison Bickerstaff has her annual fall video out with some new, yummy sounding coffee drinks. I may have to try one or two of them also.

@@bonessam9618 PUMPKIN BREAD 1.5 cup cooking oil 5 eggs, beaten 2 cups canned pumpkin 2 cups flour 1 3 ounce package instant coconut pie filling mix (I use coconut pudding - may be the same thing?) 1 teaspoon salt 1 teaspoon baking soda 1 teaspoon cinnamon 1 c. nuts of choice 1 c. shredded coconut Combine oil, eggs, and pumpkin well. Combine the rest of the ingredients in a separate, then mix w the first mixture. Bake in two 9 x 5 4 greased pans at 350 for one hour.

Thank you so much for your video Ashlyn hope you enjoy the fall trees and the colorful leaves haven't really got any colorful leaves yet in my backyard but I know I will I did last year across the street from my neighbors they had a red tree and my other neighbor had a yellow tree and I had a red tree in my yard I like to see the leaves fall off the trees I like the fresh air feels good sit on the porch and breathe in the fresh air and drink a can of mountain dew I drink coffee too I like Starbucks and dunkin' donuts across the street from my home there's a business where they're going to build a dunkin' donuts they bought three houses and knocked the house is down so they can build a dunkin' donuts one of my favorite coffee places I do like to make a homemade Dunkin donuts fresh iced coffee and I love hazelnut vanilla chocolate and pumpkin you should make a pumpkin iced coffee sometime at home , I hope you have amazing day and a happy Friday enjoy the fresh air outside 🙏🤗✌️

If you watch this "getting cozy in the fall" video then watch last year's "getting cozy in the fall" video, it is so easy to see how real you are because you did almost the exact same things lol OOTD, Trader Joe's and Target, small coffee shops didn't have fall flavors so you went to Starbucks, pumpkin cold brew, baked something, painted.. I'm not Ashlynne obviously but I thought I would share something that has worked for me. Any tea based on carob (like the Celestial Seasonings tea "Roastaroma") should be a nice transition. I haven't yet found one that tastes strong enough, but I hope that gives you something to go off of.

I would say chai, Earl Grey, and roobios teas could all be great for that! I drink all of them with oat milk (and sometimes maple syrup/honey). Some specific recommendations would be (all from my fave David’s tea): - Pumpkin chai - Organic Earl Grey - Alpine punch -Cinnamon Roobios Hope this helps!!

Lovely decoration and recipes! As a French, I love Brie! One thing saddened me though: seeing you leaving home and immediately buying a St*rb*ck drink in a plastic mug - why not use a reusable travel mug/thermos? And even better, fill it with your own coffee at home... or drink your coffee at home before leaving? Maybe it's because I'm older but I don't get the habit of drinking and eating on the way somewhere (unless one is really in a hurry of course or travelling long distance). In France we traditionally prefer enjoy our drinks and meals sitting at a table or in nice places, like parks... probably a cultural thing.

As a minimalist, I find no point of seasonal decoration, that we need to store / produce / dispose. I don't buy food only for "my eyes' pleasure". There is to many people starving to play with food in order to have a "beautiful and seasonal door step". I harvest what my garden gives me and these harvests are my deco, until I cook them. That's the most ecological, ethical, zero waste and minimalist solution, in my opinion.
