He couldn’t take breaks and finish in less than 4 hours. He practiced and memorized every hand/foothold.

He took multiple breaks during the climb.. he even took a poop before the final pitch

Your conjectures and assessments from the point of view of a lay person are cute. But you are projecting 'quite a bit' of your lack of knowledge into it. ''what if the stone broke of..'' - don't you think the guy who actually climbs it wouldn't have thought about it? there's always a risk factor, however, the danger can be minimized when you plan, methodically train and know your stuff. Alex knows exactly what he does. This rock in particular is extremely sturdy a hard, very unlikely to go anywhere whilst you're standing on it. however, the risk factor here is your technique and skillset, your shoes and friction you're capable to produce, your work with balance and work with your body's center of gravity. sometimes you depend on your fingers grip, other times you need to rely on your feet and shoes, sometimes neither hands nor feet can provide reliable comfort or safety, depending on the difficulty of the wall surface. There you have to be extremely careful, or try find a route where you can avoid those areas. Work with friction and balance. Meticulous planning of every move, reducing the amount of exposure and vulnerability to the minimum, weather monitoring - starts raining when you're in the middle of the big wall free soloing - hmmm, you're fucked bigtime if you're not able to repel down and wait till the rain stops. strong wind can also be a risk factor - but if you're good at your craft, you can minimize the risks to only objective hazards (those you can't directly influence or control yourself) which gives you great advantage over those who are not as good as you.

The Docu-film "Free Solo" is very nicely done and gives great perspective to the whole achievement. It's not too overly dramatic (though there are some moments), but it really is a dramatic and terrifying feat, so I'll give it a pass. I've watched it like 5 times lol
