I've been taking it for maybe 5 years, 1\8 teaspoon every night with milk, I'm 64 years old , female , and I can say I have noticed a calming , and was able to unexpectedly take care of my parents at my house and able to get through both of their deaths without heavy grieving , Ashwagandha and prayer, I believe has gotten me through a very difficult season in my life .

I started using Ashwagandha 6 weeks ago and I love it. It calms my stress levels down so that I do not marinate in my problems. I am still aware of what my problems are but I no longer have them on a constant loop racing around my brain.

Ashwagandha saved me from going on SSRI. I was chronically stressed, high pulse,anxiety,panicky etc. High stress work and lots of old trauma, my body just couldn’t relax. Any sugar or caffeine would send me into a panic attack. Then this… wow! All of a sudden I walked in to work CALM, felt so grounded, at peace. Nature’s Valium but better. Recommend to anyone with similar symptoms.

Interesting! One week ago I was incredibly sad and felt broken. I attribute this to being on hormone suppressants due to cancer. A little before a week ago I had started taking something with Ashwaganda in it. Today when walking my dogs I realized I was calmer. I still have the problems I had last week but I feel better about them, more resigned.

Ashwagandha changed my personality. After Covid I had anxiety for the first time in my life and was super self-conscious and lacking confidence. The brain also was in a constant loop and couldn't stop the negative thinking. It works like nothing I've ever experienced before. I take it every night and twice a day before any potentially stressful event. I'm literally happier, confident and my joy levels are amazing. It really works, I'm a believer

Ive read the comments on here about your many side effects from taking Ashwagandha, so many negatives in fact that it would make anyone scared to try it out if they were new to it. The thing is that this herb must be used with at minimum 10 mg of black pepper or chew a couple black peppercorns before you take it. The black pepper will actually help the Liver process it and help the body absorb it up to 300% more quicker and potent. I take (every 2 days or 3 times a week) 1/2 Tsp of Ashwagandha after I chew up 2-3 black pepercorns and I'm feeling great about 30-45 minutes after ingestion. Been doing this for 15 years and I do suffer from debilitating anxiety and heart palpitations without it. I Take one month on then rest a week and follow that cycle. Im a male, mid 40's and my Testosterone is great and abundant and I feel calm and alert, also hardly no fatigue.

Since I've started taking it this has helped me tremendously with the worry and being calm as well as sleep. I have heard to give yourself a break from it. So after two bottles, I skip a month. Thank you Dr Berg for this video it's nice to know this is a great alternative for these symptoms. Within these last 9 years, I lost my Mom, daughter and Pastor/spiritual father of 12 years. As someone who has had a lot of anxiety later in my life as my physical exercise diminished, which led me to being diagnosed with ADHD and Autism, Ashwagandha has been the only thing that has helped my anxiety. I've been through the process of trying medications and therapy to deal with trauma and anxiety/depression, I stopped all prescription medication after cycling Ashwagandha (Typically a month to start then 2 weeks on and 2 weeks off). Might be worth a try, as well as looking at potential B vitamin deficiency (Especially thiamine and B12). Great info as always Dr. Greatly appreciated for those of us who have needed to "figure out" what's been causing us grief when it comes to our health. Cheers!

Did you take SSRI for depression ?How Aswaghanda helped your depression after medication ? How much you take and timing ? Please elaborate a little
@Nuggetsoffudge
@Nuggetsoffudge 2 ай бұрын
@SM-by8mg I have tried multiple SSRI and anxiolytic medications, and Ashwagandha is the only one that has not given me side effects. To be fair, I believe my symptoms are related to my ADHD and Asperger's, not true depression. I've done lots of therapy around my trauma as well, so my assumption is that the anxiety I have been trying to treat is likely just ADHD. I typically take Ashwagandha 2-3 times a day (Taking it for 30 days straight then 2 weeks off and 2 weeks on). My advice is to try it but some people feel emotional blunting and don't like it as much as I do.

I tried ashwagandha a few years ago and had a bad experience. I was having some issues and decided to try it. Over a few months time I was having more problems such as my heart going up to like 100-110 bpm while relaxing in the evening watching TV and suddenly a tear would run down my cheek for seemingly no reason. I saw a video where someone talked about how with certain people it could cause serotonin issues. I stopped taking it and two days later I felt like a new man .

@SweetSassyBull only basic vitamins, nothing out of the ordinary. It seems it works well for most people and I fell into the exceptions. SSRI meds are horrible for me too, they make me like over the top zombied, but Buproprion seems to work well so I suspect my issue is not serotonin but more on the dopamine side.

I HAVE TO WARN PEOPLE!!! ASHWAGANDHA IS A NIGHTSHADE! You may have sensitivities to nightshades and not know it. Maybe you've never stressed your system. But then you add Ashwagandha to your daily nightshade intake, and it's too much. THAT is what happened to me! A Naturopath had me on 2 g Ashwagandha daily. After a mere 3 months, my health had mysteriously deteriorated. It would take another year and many many diagnostic tests before a gastroenterologist would suggest that he sees that kind of damage in people with nightshade sensitivities. Then another THREE YEARS to clear most mystery symptoms (10 years later still not 100%). THE THING IS THAT YOU MAY NOT KNOW YOU HAVE AN ISSUE UNTIL YOU HAVE AN ISSUE.

Holy crap, I did not know that. Thank you so much for this info, because I was about to buy some next week again. I suffer from autoimmune issues, that makes me sensitive to a very large group of foods. With nightshades being one of them, I still get very sick off potatoes and paprika. Yeah so I might have to ax, ashwagandha off my list then. How are things like holy basil, ginseng and rhodiola? Are they part of any unsafe food group or contain oxalates?
