In January 2022, Prime Minister Narendra Modi Ji introduced a visionary plan for fostering an "Aatmanirbhar Semiconductor Ecosystem" in India. Fast forward to October, India is taking significant strides towards achieving this goal, with the construction of its first semiconductor industry, Micron Technology, a globally recognized semiconductor giant, now underway. This marks a historic moment for India as it ventures into establishing a foundational industry that has the potential to transform the nation's manufacturing ecosystem.
10 years back, the landscape of mobile phone manufacturing in India was negligible. However, with focused policies and investments, the nation has transitioned to a manufacturing hub for mobile phones, with a staggering 98% of mobiles phones manufactured in India. Soon we will see ‘Made in India’ Google Pixel in India. This is the pace of Aatmanirbhar Bharat.
