ASI "Dagger" Attack Corvette-Mk1 Review

The ASI Dagger is a light Corvette that pushes above its weight class and a pretty cool design from a fan of the channel. this ship is not only surprisingly powerful for its weapon load out but also is really fast and extremely cheap for a effective vanilla short range Patrol ship which blurs the line between Corvette and Patrol craft.

Cheers for the feature :) I agree this one is more of a gunboat than a corvette. Most of my designations are heavily influenced by Homeworld. When I was running it on a server I definitely noticed the lack of jump drive. I ended up towing one around on a merge block and leaving it in space just outside the event battle areas. With mixed results. Sometimes the jump drive didn't make it, sometimes the ship didn't make it. Either way a royal pain lol. The gyros on the outside came from the need to have lots of them for the size of ship, but not a lot of space inside for them. And I was finding that gyros breaking loose and rolling around inside was a leading cause of damage for light ships so I put them outside. So they double as armour and gyros. There's one stuck to the cockpit so it can't be gyro crippled before it is cockpitted. She served me well in lots of battles as she can dodge rocket fire very effectively. It's the higher projectile speeds as well as the penetration that makes it a bit more obsolete these days. But I think you might be right about bringing it back as a drone. At least for PvE. The Courser class carrier can transport four of these no problem so that would work pretty well. My newer corvettes have a jump drive as well as some strategically placed armour, so they fare much better against the occasional artillery and railgun shot that comes their way.
