I saw Asia on their 25th anniversary tour. When they played this, neither Steve nor Geoff sang backup on the chorus. On the second chorus, I cupped my hands around my mouth and sang/shouted the high harmony part. I was in the 2nd row but wasn't sure if John Wetton could hear me, but by the end of the song everyone was singing it, and I could see John smiling. A nice memory I will always have as I say goodbye to John, a prog-rock legend. RIP.

Huge asia fan here. here is the story behind the video. This was Asia's "B Movie Tribute" to Raiders of the Lost Ark. JJ Jackson said this when he premiered the video on Friday night late in July of 1983. It's just pure fun....sure it's a little hokey....but the band didn't take it too seriously. It's a great song and actually tells a story. Remember when videos used to do that! Enjoy!

John Wetton stands among the best of musicians which we all lost this past year in 2016. Glenn Frey, David Bowie, Prince, Maurice White, B.B. King etc... I will always love the late 1970s and early 1980s music with which Wetton really contributed the explosion of a newer and even more explosive and incredible sound. Sounds of my youth which I will always remember!!! God Bless and play your talent for GOD, John Wetton!!!! Amen.

I went to Asia's Tribute Concert and at the end they answered a bunch of questions. My question was "what was your favorite songs to write/record? for Geoff and Carl" because Steve Howe didn't show up. Geoff Downes said that he liked anything form the first album because that's when they were getting a feel for their style and were still learning about themselves as a band. When they got to Carl Palmer, he said he really didn't know, all that he could think of was being in the Jungle and using the drumsticks to hack at bushes.

It's just different flavors for different time periods. I would argue that there's music that comes out today, which is widely agreed to be one of the worst time periods for music, that's waaay better than some 80's music. It just comes down to personal taste and knowledge of what's going on during a specific time period, I bet if you looked a bit more you could find some really good music that's coming out right now.

@phat804 жыл бұрын
@@ANT96-x8d Maybe for you it was techno years but for others it's plenty of good rock works, some of them are still the best ones, the rise of death, black, prog metal, sympho metal in late 90s, the time of true alternative bands. It was time when many music albums were good from start to finish where bad songs just didn't exist. I think a plenty of greatest songs of all time were made exactly in 90s. Many new styles ans substyles emerged then too. More then other decades.

I just found out that the lead singer passed in 2017. That is so sad. I really liked this group when I was young in the 80's. I've always been an "Original" Asia fan. (Not the group from the 90's upto 2000) This video was mirrored by the 1st Indiana Jones movie. The song's simple story line and yet effective camera angles always gave me the inspiration to go into video production, which I have finally done. Not all video(s) look this good or bad, however you see it, but good story telling is done with imagery that you can relate to in any way. Asia put their cool, yet mysterious symbols, in the forefront in this video. When I watch Indiana Jones/Raiders of the Lost Ark, I do think of this video, which is what I think ASIA intended.
