I found grunge matt Gatsby when I was 16, haven't used anything else for the last 7 years. I've got quite thin hair and it was the first hair wax that felt good to apply and usually holds, but you're absolutely right when it comes to not using hairspray and it meets the wind haha. Several hours later after applying it I can still style and change how my hair was when I did it. You're only ever going to get it out properly with shampoo, so just try to use it a few times a week, if not then use it more lightly on days that you don't want to use shampoo to let your hair rest from it! Glad you did a review on it man!

I tried kocaine klay today and it's pretty fantastic! Worked well for my style. Gives good volume, fairly matte finish but makes the hair look very healthy!! Hold is definitely strong but not as strong as hard muk but again, it's holding my style very nicely! The smell is very mild of rosemary and clay... i love it!! This stuff is very sticky, i had to handwash twice to get it off and it'll take effort to shampoo it out but that doesn't matter cos i shampoo my hair daily anyway. I'll use kocaine for daily use as it's totally natural and well priced (not inexpensive but pretty good). I have been using hard muk for the last 8 years but i think kocaine Klay has basically replaced it after just one use! I didn't expect such a great product to come out of India and it has definitely kicked butt!! Great stuff!! (I can smell the very light rosemary & clay an hour after application and it's awesome!) Very highly recommended guys! Grab it... Get your perfect style and support the producer (I'm not patriotic but i always support great products that are well priced).

BTW it's a budget product in terms on currency conversion but in India, it's not budget but actually a mid range product.

You should try the pink spiky edge gatsby. It has the strongest hold for very short hair but for me with medium hair it didn't really hold well, I'm curious on how it will work on your hair
@nomadicadam22607 жыл бұрын
I remember I used this when I lived in Hong Kong when I first started styling my hair. It's a good product, but one thing I didn't like about it was how difficult it was to wash out at night like you alluded to in the vid. I like it when the product washes out easily with water, but since my hair is really fine like yours, I'd take a good hold over the washability, all things taken into consideration.

Its good to see you're doing a review of Gatsby. I have Gatsby moving rubber too (the green one) and will make a video about it soon. Its great to see that you're making videos with a budget products instead of those expensive products which not everyone can't afford and is also difficult to find. I live in Asia, so Gatsby is like everywhere here. My favorite is the wax one. Btw, have a good day👌

Muhd Farhat how does the green one perform? I tried the grey and purple ones and have found the purple is slightly better
@odysseus2k17 жыл бұрын
EveryMan It is ideal for medium short hair and it gives an ultra volume with a soft touch which means that you can restyle your hair easily. It is also easy to wash and doesn't have any greasy feelings on your hair. The holding power for me would be 6/10. It depends on one's opinion of course but to me this air rise is good especially for my type of hair. Ps: It smells really good not that its important but yeah😊

I wanted to mention that only certain alcohols are bad for your hair, if it contains Cetyl, Cetearyl, Stearyl, Myristyl, Lauryl or Behenyl Alcohol it is a good ingredient. Those are the conditioning alcohols and prevent the hair from drying out heavily. The Bad Alcohols are SD Alcohol 40, Ethanol, Propyl, SD Alcohol, Porpanol and Isopropyl are the bad alcohols no matter the hair type. The good Alcohols also act as thickening agents to the product (not the hair)!and add moisture, bad ones help a product evaporate quickly and are more common in cheap products to get you to buy more and/ or use more of it.

I’ve been using this product for awhile and unfortunately I think it might be the cause to my hair thinning. The product itself holds and offers a matte finish, like it says it does. The problem is that it is very sticky and isn’t water soluble so it is very hard to clean off. Because of this, it damages hair overtime causing it to thin.
@shen67493 жыл бұрын
to really determine what caused your hair to thin, I would recommend you go see a dermatologist and he/she will be able to determine what is causing your hair to thin. have you seen a dermatologist yet?

The best thing ever created it is! Shampoo->Shiseido Hair Mask(overnight)->Gatsby Grunge. My hair is so damn pretty I kid you not! And it lasts the whole day for whatever business you attend, it holds just like after you had done it later that night! This and shiseido hair mask is 10/10 item for me. Better than any oil, and any other substance that i used! And im 38 years old. It doesnt wash off easily, not unless you use shampoo, but this is the only substance that you need to use so it doesnt clog your hair. Really a bonus for men which in need of something simple.

I use the purple gatsby and it's the closest thing to holding my hair since I've got super straight asian hair. But thank you for pin pointing that it grabs the hair, I dislike that feeling but its the best hold. I've tried Original by Bluuman, both American crew pastes, gold digger by villain, and purple gatsby. I have yet to try Hanz de Fuko claymation. Is it similar to any of the products that I've named?
