A great Moody Blues song. This song is about "the one who got away." Feeling a bit nostalgic, the singer wonders if his long-lost love remembers him the way he remembers her. The song was written by The Moody Blues guitarist/singer Justin Hayward, said that it was inspired by a real person, but one that shall go nameless. Source: Songfacts

First time I saw them was the first time "festival seating" wasn't allowed. Festival seating was where the whole bottom of the coliseum was open for people to be wherever, but here they had assigned seating. My friends and I had stadium seats on the side which were fine, but many people would rush down to the aisles on the floor. The fire marshal would turn the overhead lights on to stop the concert and tell people to go back to their seats. This happened several times. Finally, the band said, "We have enough trouble dealing with your weak American electrical system as it is, and need all the power we can get, so please don't do anything to make them turn the lights on." People cheered at them dissing our electrical system and were well behaved after that.

This song is from a comeback era for the Moody Blues, in 1986, riding a wave of nostalgia. They're originally from the second half of the 1960s. What happened is that "Nights in White Satin" would keep getting rediscovered by audiences, and get play on the radio. So at one point they decided to put out another album.

Not exactly. They were together from 1964 to 1974, then re-formed in 1979 and continued until a few years ago. They released quite a few albums through the 80s and had several hits that decade. Not just one album.

Another great reaction! Not only is he recalling a past love, the memory is triggered by a song ("when the music plays...) which reminds him that they parted because he needed to pursue his music ("I hear the sound I had to follow...") Moody Blues was my first concert…way back in their 1971 tour in Vancouver, Canada. They were my fav band for years, saw them many times…this one came out later on and always reminded me of the loss of my fiancé, he was killed in a car wreck at 19 yrs old. The lyrics always make me dream of him, wondering if he’s dreaming of me somewhere out there. “When the words are touched with sorrow” Thanks for this one guys, sweet, sweet memories! ❤️‍🔥

I have always thought their Question of Balance record was their best effort (It is certainly my favorite). It charted #1 in the UK and #3 in the US, selling over 1 million copies however, Long Distance Voyager sold 1,360,000 copies. The iconic voice is the work of Justin Hayward who was inducted into the R&R HOF in 2018. Some must listens from QOB: It's Up To You, Minstrels Song, Meloncholy Man, and Dawning Is The Day. Thanks for reacting.

There are some bands/musicians you listen to where watching the accompanying music video can be kind of detrimental to the music, as in it has nothing to do with the lyrics. "Your Wildest Dreams" is one of those songs, where it fits perfectly with the music video, and I hope you manage to see it one day. This always makes me nostalgic because it's music I grew up with listening to on the radio. Also I love the bass guitar in this.

Moody Blues are one of my favorite groups from the 60's-80's. Love their mix of rock with classical music. They have a sound like no other band. They have a lot of great songs such as "Go Now", "Nights In White Satin", "Tuesday Afternoon", "Question", "Gemini Dream", "The Voice", Ride My See-Saw", "The Story In Your Eyes" etc. Many of their records are concept albums & meant to be listened to all at once.
