@@WaterWhirld Yes but he’s still not considered to be one of the great songwriters by most people. He doesn’t get the same respect as Springsteen or say a John Fogerty. I blame it on a certain critical and popular bias against Bob’s blue collar appeal. I think his midwestern roots which instruct his writing is not perceived to be as important as Springsteen’s portraits of the lament of people left behind by de industrialization or Fogerty’s faux down home American roots inspired sound. But Bob wrote such well crafted and honest songs. Really elegant writing similar to a young Paul Simon in an almost conversational style. And Bob unlike many songwriting peers matured so well and continued to write great songs about growing older like no one else. So for all of his accolades I think that he is under appreciated as a writer perhaps not as a performer.

This was my daddy's song. This was his anthem. He was our rock. And he would crank up this song and for whatever it was, it was who he was inside and how he felt. He was and old-school real man's man, a grease monkey, a sports fan, a military veteran, and an all around handy man. And he was my best friend. We played this song at his funeral accompanied by all the pictures we could find. I cannot hear this song without thinking of him and getting extremely emotional. took a while to compose myself - loved seeing BJ feel this song in his soul. I could feel my daddy here watching this with me and moving the same way. gaddam i miss him so much.

I remember working when I was 16 listening to this and it was a young man's anthem about being young with your whole life ahead of you. What I like about you guys is that you play off each other REALLY well!! Usually though, it's BJ being "analytical" while Asia "gets it". This time I could tell BJ caught the "feels". Also, you guys just plain look good together...

Yeah the older you get the more you will understand his words. He is basically looking back at how strong he was in his youth and now he is in his 40s or 50s and he isnt in that shape anymore. And the older you get the quicker the years go by so 20 years can seem like 5 or 10. Me being 46 i know exactly what he means. Its like the Bruce Springsteen song Glory Days. That will explain it and you guys would love that song anyway! Hope you react to it and, as always, love your reactions! I look forward to them! Kudos guys!!!

Bob Seger has a huge song catalog. You need to visit him. I knew y’all were going to recognize it when the chorus kicked in!! It is a chevy, built ram tough! 😂😂 Turn The Page and Roll Me Away are his best songs in my opinion.

"Against the Wind" is a must listen. 20 years seems like a long time until they slip by. Damn, I saw him in Orlando in the late '70's upwards to 60k in attendance.

Great song. He wrote & recorded a lot of them. Night Moves is perfect song, nostalgic and wistful like this one. Lots of great rockers on Live Bullet (Get Out of Denver, Katmandu, Nutbush City ...). Come to Poppa is great groove song too.

My mom was playing Bob Seger in the house everyday when I was a little kid in the early 1970's My mom seen him and I always wanted to see him before he dies! It's on the bucket list for sure! Although his hay days was in the 1970's , this his song rejuvenated his career in the 1980's which introduced him to new generations of people! He's one of my all-time favorite singers! no cap!

It's all part of the human perspective. Am I where I thought I would be back then? Am I headed in the direction I need to be to get were I wanted to be? We have the ability to recollect our past, the good and the bad. Sometimes it can resurrect the hurt we felt as well as the joy. A song can trigger a memory like nothing else can. Sometimes that memory is so strong we can even recall the scent in the air and the sounds around us. We might look around us a see a bunch of kids messin around, and recall when it was us doing that. Just knowing we couldn't be caught.

Bob Seger deserves every accolade he has gotten. Started touring as a teenager. Toured 250 days a year. The man would play anywhere. Bowling alleys, dive bars, street corners. Just goes to show hard work will pay off it you stick to it. Like a Rock!!!

“turn the Page “ is a great tune from Bob about life on the road. But my favorite is “ Roll me Away”. He has a great catalog . You won’t go wrong with any of his but do “Night Moves” if you can only do one Bob Seger song.

My husband passed away in April of last year. He had been fighting cancer for 17 years at that point. Our friend had this CD, and one day this song was playing, and he sat there in the car listening and singing, growing a little pensive. I didn’t know him when he was growing up in his high school years. He was big into baseball, football, sports. I was 5 or 6 years older than he was, but in all of those photos of those years, this song described perfectly how straight he stood strong; like a rock. Filled with confidence. Wanting a life with me. Even with the diagnosis of terminal cancer (something that flipped our lives completely upside down), he told the doctor that they knew what was wrong, now fix me. He would be the very first patient at University of Michigan in Ann Arbor, MI, to receive tandem stem cell transplants. He relapsed 10 years later. I have never seen anyone fight so hard for just one more day, and I was with him every step of the way. He’d been on chemo full-time the last 8 years of his life. He was in a lot of pain, but he did everything in his power to never let anyone else ever know the level of pain he was in. “That was me.” Broke my heart as we both remembered him at 23/24 years of age. So beautiful. So confident. He stepped right up in becoming a father to “our children,” and then again, as our own son arrived. He will ALWAYS be the strongest, kindest, bravest man; the hero. To me he was always that man. He outlived his prognosis by 16 years. We saw everything that we were never supposed to have seen. Our children graduate high school. Our daughter graduate from college. We danced at their weddings and then were blessed with the births of all seven of our grandchildren. Now I hear this song, and I see him all over again. Babe, my heart remembers yours, and I will love you, all the rest of my life. Every. Day. Learning life without you after 31 years together, and 30 years of being your wife. 💟
