BJ is correct about expanding your self to being more optimistic when you travel. I have a lot of Middle Eastern Muslim friends. They are the nicest people you ever want to meet. The other caveat is they all now I'm Christian. We all have a deep respect for each other. They invite you to their home they will treat you like a king. I love the way Gabriel tells his story about traveling to the Middle East. I get a good laugh from it. I love you guys doing this reaction. If you get invited to a Middle eastern home and eat with them do not hesitate, Go! you will enjoy the hospitality.

I think it is such an honor to an individual from various countries (and, for many of us who may not have the means to travel and meet the citizens and learn out their culture) to be invited, allowed and welcomed by other regions/countries/states around the globe by royalty/elders and the lawful citizens of those regions. I believe, for example, Gabriel Iglesias to be received by a person, the Prince, in such a polite and warm manner gives my heart joy.

About the prince calling Fluffy “Gibril”, Arabic and Hebrew are related, they are both Semitic languages. A greeting in Arabic is “As-salaam alaikum” (peace be with you). In Hebrew it is “Shalom aleichem.” I’ve noticed too that with many of the Old Testament names, often times where Hebrew has an “a” Arabic has an “I”: Gabriel = Gibril, Abraham = Ibrahim. Falconry has been a sport of royalty and nobility all over Europe, North Africa, and the Middle East for thousands of years. Like jousting and horse racing , they were the only people who could afford it. In some places, they were the only people allowed by law to do it.

He makes a very good point. When going to another country, if you don’t learn their rules and customs beforehand, you’re just asking for trouble. As far as someone coming onto a plane pointing and motioning to you, when you know you’ve been hired by royalty, you WILL get up and go. I don’t care who you are, you are now a guest in THEIR country. Granted, if you ask what it’s about, they will be straightforward because they almost expect foreigners, especially us Americans to be ignorant and not do any research before traveling abroad. When I got stationed in the Philippines I made sure to find out their customs, rules and traditions before going, just so I didn’t look or act like an ass.

Saudi Arabia has relaxed it's laws since then... Men and women are no longer forced to segregate in public, the reglious police are virtually powerless, and you no longer need to be invited to be able to go visit, getting a tourist visa (for an American) is pretty easy
