kakaistheman2007 From Canada, and I 1000% agree!!!! This lot, plus The Lo-Fi's and Beta Band were my late 90's soundtrack!!!! I love Sinatra, metal, Ravi, pop, 50's, hip-hop, etc... ADF were awesome, and I lost track of them after the fourth album.

plenty of great vocalists after Deeder. Deeder just represents the beginning. His latest stuff on Spotify is meh and honestly everything he did after ADF has been fair to blah. He and ADF were at their peak when they were together.

@@cnt55cnt55 im not talking about what he did after but what he represented for that band. His voice and style are unique, and during concerts, nobody can "cover" him well enough. They also changed a lot the style of the songs, even though you have similarities. Im sure with Deeder they wouldnt have done so much crap...but thats me.

yes the bands hey day was community music era probably. deeder was that era. stuff that came after had highs and lows and a lot of middle ground stuff that none of the vocalists could make work.

I read that Deeder became overwhelmingly passionate to help the unfortunate when he was making songs for ADF. Because of that it sounds like he left this band to join charity groups that helped victims subjected to racism, poverty, or disease. I can't fault him for that, but I agree with others that his solo stuff is meh at best. I believe in chemistry and I suggest he had it when he was in ADF.

God, I love them. I loved them then, the first explicitly political music that had made it anywhere near the ears of so many people, in the UK at least. The first in a long time saying boldly what so badly needed to be said. I sometimes get lazy and assume I always knew what I know now. As soon as I hear them again I remember it was them taught me.

Lived there from 2003 to 2006 as a foreigner. The place to be at that time. Remember the great Time Out cover in July 2005 after the bombings: Our city. That's the way we felt. An open place, people from everywhere, venues like Scala or Herbal. Even now, living 10 000 kms from London, I believe I'm still a Londoner.
