​ @Crusader - The Chinese never fought European armies in the middle ages - knights or peasant milita. The video says medieval Chinese armor, but I suppose it could mean both Chinese and Mongol armor. And most high middle ages European armies were peasant militas with a smaller core of elite fighters (eg. knights and wealthier man at arms).

铁浮图Iron Butu. Which means a tower made of iron, it's the name given to the armored cavalry of the Jin(1115-1234)

Steppe armor are most likely effected by Chinese armor, because China use armor way before steppe

This wasn't steppe armor though. Such styles of lamellar armor were widely in use in East Asia way before the Mongols. They most likely appeared during the Han Dynasty (206 BC - 220 AD).

Your missing the upper arm straps/loop and the cord at the base of the laminar helm to keep it close to the head. The 2 front flaps are corded together then around the back of the head under the back flap.

Very similar to earliest Japanese army and then evolved into what we know of Samurai armor. this type are also spread vast to Siberia, Mongolia, China, Korea, Japan, up to Kamchatka easternmost north of Siberia. used by Koryak people

That's a song armor, so it is before mongols. Yuan and ming armor are more different.

Your arrow positioning needs work. Historically, the arrow was knocked, dwan and fired in a single, fast motion.

Lamellar may not be super aesthetically pleasing, but when compared to chainmail and plate, it’s pretty much the best of both worlds. Not as good as chainmail at flexibility, not as good as plate armor for sheer survivability, but it comes pretty damn close to both.

Kimda crazy how similar Chinese, Japanese, and Mongolian warriors looked and fought. Samurai primary weapon was his bow. The katana was a last option.

the armored mini cloak is a really cool solution to shoulder protection. flexible enough so you move it out of the way to use the bow, but it can still cover your shoulders completely if needed.

Looks good and technically could be still used today with a few upgrades unerneithe like soft rife armor cammo paint a pistol belt with ammo but essentially the look and feel of the armor wouldnt really change much only the weapons in combat
