80% of Asian kids sleep with their parents( usually dad is kicked out to the hall cuz of snoring) till college. They get their own room on begging. It's different if you have siblings tho. The older siblings share a room and the youngest sleeps with the parents.

I am a 19 year old, still sleep with my mom whenever i go back home. I never went to a school trip, but not a single science exhibition or gk quiz was missed by me no matter where it was conducted. I was a topper in my school, but scored 94.60% in my 10th boards. Everyone who met me after results, sympathized me instead of congratulating. They were like, कोई बात नही, अगली बार अच्छे आ जाएंगे। 😑

Bro it's seriously a toxic behaviour done by some Indian parents though (not all parents are like that but mostly Indian parents are like this) I remember when we had PTM and my class topper and her parents were there with me and my parents and her mom scold and curses her in front of teacher jus because she got 98 and not 100%...and I was like wtf like no teacher would give 100% to any student even if the student is so intelligent like who give 100% to someone lol? I think Asian Parents and Indian Parents are still very different. Cause In other Asian countries parents have accepted Western lifestyle and trying to keep their culture. Whereas in India parents have not accepted Western lifestyle at all. They're living an indian lifestyle and expect their kids to do the same. That's why India is one of the very few countries in the world where kids live with their parents until they die. Thats just the lifestyle we have. Whereas many other asian countries has accepted the moving out concept.

I'm pure Indian but it was always a mixed lifestyle experience in my childhood like- wiping the couch thing,walking on an uneven surface or hight/sleeping with wet hair/fever treatment were same for asian one but sleeping with your parents(though i slept between my parents till 9)/tiffin for school(used to make my own tiffin or bought it from shop)/sleepovers/sinus treatment were like American one.

Indian kids sleep with their parents. Its common and its what expected. If you separate kids below 10 yrs to a separate room during sleep, it may be seen as negligence. Ideology is kids feel secured when they are close to their parents during sleep. In a separate room sleeping alone may scare them, specially if they have scary thoughts or dreams. Many of my friends have never slept alone in their whole life. During infants age with parents, during teenage age sharing beds with elder / younger sister. If they have brother, the case is different. After marriage with husband & children. I had a strange conversion with one of my colleague. She remained awake whole night & was feeling sleepy in office. I asked her if she was okay or not. She told me she could not sleep alone on bed. Her husband is on business trip. Her daughter is visiting her grandparents. Shel told me this is the first time she slept alone & remained awake whole night.

I understand that security thing but sleeping with your parents at the age of 15, 18 even 25 is so disturbing. It never grow the independence among children and make them the lifetime coward. This is the reason why many Indians can't sleep alone even after marriage cuz they don't have habit of it and always depend on someone to sleep with them...isn't it disturbing? Parents should give their children a separate room after 12-13 otherwise his/her personality won't develop completely but what they do? They keep their kid with them even after 20s on the same bed..it's not love but attachment. Uk sometimes the teenagers feel that their parents having___on the same bed in which they're sleeping and it gives them the life time nightmare...isn't it so gross? These kind of parents are disgusting as hell. Uk what the animals do to their kids? They take care of them, protect them and secure them until their kids becomes quite develop and after that they let them be free and don't give them food or protection cuz if they do the same then their kids always dependent on them for the food and protection...even animals have more maturity than humans!
