Though not found as widely through India as the tiger, the power and courage of the Asiatic lion should not be underestimated. What are your thoughts on these formidable beasts?

why dont your teams do a favor and give them something to eat. Im over the "we dont interfere with nature" b.s. The very reason those cubs are starving is because we interfered with nature. They starve because of us. So everybody needs to get over that hypocritical theory and start helping when we can, when it is safe for both cat and human.

I think a few hundred years ago, perhaps even a couple millenniums, the Asiatic lion 🦁 & tiger🐅 were either extremely close neighbors, to where they even crossed paths (at least occasionally) if not often. Sorta like the American Puma & Jaguar of the Americas. @@AryandanBarhat Lions existed in Iran (same breed Asiatic Lion which Iranians love to call Persian Lions ) from ancient times till 1912 by then it was under 10 remaining (maybe 5 , 6 lions only ), 1948 theres a photo of captive persian lion cub , some say 1965 was last when lion was spotted near a lake. Whereas India wanted Iranian cheetah ( as same breed that went extinct in India in 1960s last seen ) , but Iran wanted Asiatic lion in exchange of Asiatic Cheetah , and Gujrat has not yet exported to MP or Raj. so this is another country. Finally today India has 800+ Lions & Iran has 20+ Cheetah (Reduced from pop. of 150+ when India was asking for same).

In India, the wild wolves survival is also a struggle with a dwindling population. No forests connecting the country properly from the East to the West besides some hilly area which hasn’t been fully exploited, even elephants and other wildlife have no free migratory movement left.

Gujarat government is reluctant to spread them to other places from as close as Kuno national park and as far as Iran simply because they want monopoly over them. This leaves them vulnerable to diseases like canine distemper virus or death due to territorial confict among each othet since the land cannot support their numbers.

Depicted very negative image of Asian Lions. I would suggest, these people should revisit Gir Forest with me and show the reality to the world. From the brink of extinction to a sizable number of 600 plus is a big leap in securing the population. The food base is in good condition. Now they are over flowing in their forest and looking for shelter outside the national.park and reserve forest is a different issue altogether.

What I know about Indian culture lions are mostly associated for luxury and lavish things or lifestyle. It's a symbol of royalty or Royal Power. But tigers are mainly associated to sacrifice, strength and bravery. If king of empire is the like the Lion then the brave soldier is like the Tiger.

That lioness got injured and It is very common thing in a group of lions. It is thumb rule of a jungle that if an animal is injured then its time to say goodbye to this world. Government of that region is trying a lot to save them. Please do not provide wrong info. around the world because People start showing sympathy and they feel that indian lions are avoided by the government. Due to some outsiders and their merciless behaviour with lions, they reached to 20. You should make documentary on that topic as well. Lions are increasing in numbers day by day. The bonding between humans of that region and lions is a unique identification in the world and I think it's a real quality of a king as they are having control on their mind .
