Just picked up the Monaco Blue colorway after watching! And I got them right off the Asics site, can't believe they were still sitting. The Monaco Blue colorway in particular is the one Balenciaga infamously drew inspo from for their Trainer which they recently released in 2021 and to be fair, that release was what brought my attention to this Asics model. p.s. Awesome video!

I like the overall look of the shoes, especially the color blocking, but I'm not a big fan of the glossy surfaces, it makes them seem a lot more flashy and to some extent cheap (not that they actually are). Still, I'm interested in what Kiko's team will bring to asics, hopefully imbuing the brand with some of their own creative direction.

I cant help but notice that at 1:03 you wobble with your foot at the edge of the tile you are standing on. Interesting, how unstable shoes with thick "traditional" soles are, now that I am wearing predominantly barefoot shoes. Of course a gel filled sole is a bit wobbly, from a neutral stabndpoint.

As explained in the video, the main difference is the plastic caging seen throughout the upper of the shoe, along with the loop at the tongue :).
