I really love my V4s and have only compared it up to the Nimbus 25, haven't yet tried the 26. The 25 feels so much firmer and dead under foot while the bouncy and softer V4 with its rocker geo is much more fun and so stabil as well. I actually used my V4s in an ultra trail run this winter mainly run in dunes, beaches and small dirt roads. worked perfectly and stability was so fine

The word I've used to describe my More v4s is "squidgy". It's not super soft but it's nice and, well, squidgy and feels super comfortable and not sluggish at all, my favourite trainer!

Agree. For me, they have a good pop for shorter (under 10 miles) runs. When my form is tired, on longer runs, I found they had too much bounce. It’s just my form. I need a coaster, not trampolines on my feet!

After 280k, I can say that the More V4s are the only shoes which have given me blisters due to poor finishing (they look lovely though). With use of scalpel on the insoles I made them comfortable and they are a slow but comfy ride. The tread pattern had a zig-zag crack down the centre of the forefoot where the majority of the wear occurs due to it flexing outwards along this crack There is more wear than I was expecting (I am fairly light). My Triumph 21s have replaced them, but if I fancy a sofa like cushioning with a bit of bounce I occasionally take out the More v4s.

This is the comparison I have been waiting for! I have both and was always curious what others felt about the two. The nimbus takes about 50 miles to really soften up. Out the box it’s kinda blah to me. You really feel the protection between you and pavement, but will get no feedback or responsiveness. Nimbus is also a great walk around town shoes too. The more v4 has a more exciting midsole. It’s super squishy especially after you break it in. I do find the nb outsole to be alittle less durable compared to the nimbus.

I have More V4 and Nimbus 25 (older model of similar design) but I'm an average guy so probably I don't benefit from that much stack. Here's what I found: More V4: Low drop feels negative if you heel strike very early on which forces you to run more towards midfoot. If you don't move up the landing to the midfoot a bit, you might feel like falling behind when you land on your heel and then you also need to fight the not-yet-compressed foam in midfoot-forefoot to roll forward. Fit for slimmer feet might be awkward - in my case I had to cinch the laces quite hard which closed off the ankle collar in front and that quite rigid part hit my feet in front of the ankles. I tried runner's loop to make it fit tighter but unfortunately the tongue is a bit too short or at least not padded that much which makes the laces bite into your leg. Overall decent shoe with safe, wide landing platform but nothing special. I tried Nimbus 25 but I couldn't find a proper fit either. I felt that my big toe rubbed against the internal collar on the medial side. I thought there might have been a problem with size so I picked a pair half size up. I had the same problem with the toe and on top of that, my foot started moving around which made things worse. There are 2E options which might have helped with the toes but I believe there is not enough lacing options to cinch the laces tight enough so I gave up on the shoe. Nimbus was a disappointment coming from older Cumulus models and hearing so much hype around the redesigned "most comfortable upper ever" for a more premium brother of Cumulus series but I guess I just didn't have luck this time with the shoe. I've heard that Nimbus 26 has a better upper when it comes to lacing and ventilation but I have time to wait for the discounts to roll in before considering it. Hope you have better luck and enjoy these models more than I did. Cheers!

I could have written this comment. I have exactly the same problem with the Nimbus 25. Even when I feel there's plenty of length, my big toe rubs where the toe box tapers. I have the same problem in the Novablast 4 which I unfortunately own. I bought it online and because I'm a lazy bastard who couldn't be bothered posting them back I thought that maybe I wouldn't feel it on the run, but of course I did. Now I'm too lazy to put them on eBay and then post them. It's difficult being me. New Balance in general rub the front of my ankles. It appears to be just the way they shape the ankle collar. It comes up at too sharp an angle or something... or maybe my ankles are in the wrong place. The Rebel V4 actually did fit ok despite a lot of room in the toe box, but I thought the mid-sole felt like negative drop pancakes.

@@wordsovsean8905 Even though I'm sorry for your experience, I'm happy for feeling kind of validated so thank you for your response! :) I tried Novablast 4 and Rebel V4 recently. Novablast 4 were fine - I feel that they could rival both shoes shown in the review but I still have Novablast 3 so I returned the fours. I think that in Novablast I can get lockdown good enough that the foot doesn't move around so the toe doesn't rub against anything. If I recall correctly, Nimbus 25 has some sort of internal bumper so that might exacerbate the toe rubbing problem compared to no issue with Novablasts. Rebel V4 feels cheap - the upper is stiff, lockdown is difficult, ankle collar is not padded well enough for me, arch felt intrusive and foam is nothing special (mostly EVA, reviewers reported only 20% PEBA). I have Rebel V3 and I really like them after going half a size up compared to my normal size. I don't really get the idea behind the changes for Rebel V4. It doesn't go the way of typical speed day shoe with its wide clunckiness and non-conforming/bunching up upper. It goes wide but stays stripped down compared to similar "premium" trainers. It tries to go Novablast's route but misses the point and feels hollow without that comfort. If Novablast is too heavy, you can still check Rebel V3 or even something like Puma Liberate Nitro 2. Both of them can be used for faster days and can be found at a discount. Anyway, sorry for the rant. Stay safe and injury-free. Cheers!

4:18 lol you guys wear one shoe on the left and the other on the right! Actually that's for sure the best "instant data comparison" method...do you then repeat with each shoes complement on opposite feet to balance it out?

I love my V4 as it feels super light and can handle all types of runs especially faster pace runs around 4.30min/ km.

I cant do fast miles in it. For me it seems as if it eats up all speed effort. Like them for recovery and low heartrate runs

I went with the wide size on the more v4 to get good wiggle toe box room. Running in them was surprisingly good. Keeps you popping along without your legs getting fatigued while going zone 2 time. You can even pick up the pace. But walking in then is difficult because of all the squish and low drop. I bought it as a walking/ slow running shoe but I had knee pains after walking in it for in it for 3 days. So I'm looking for a running/ walking shoe with a higher drop now. Maybe the nimbus is good.

After many Asics Gel-Nimbus running shoes, the Gel-Nimbus 26 is the first that rubbed my Achilles tendon because of the knit heel pull. If they won't remove that heel pull, than my next running shoe is going to be a New Balance More.

Be nice to see you running on a canal towpath to test your shoes occasionally. I only run 5k on roads for fear of being knocked over. 😊

Am about to hit “Buy” on a new pair of shoes and am considering these two or the Triumph 21s. I’m a heavy, new to running lad who is recovering from Plantar Fasciitis who can only afford one pair so it needs to do everything. Anyone got a suggestion which one they’d go for?
@GrungeAct
@GrungeAct 6 ай бұрын
The triumph is way more versatile Probably more durable too (it’s a tank) If you need only one pair, I’d go with the Triumph if you don’t mind it being a bit more firm than these two.

@@GrungeAct thanks for the input. I can’t afford multiple shoes so versatility is def important, and as a heavier lad durability cannot be forgotten about!!
