Timely and insightful comparison! Loving the Glycerin Max myself! It genuinely gets me excited to lace up and run every time! As a side, can I just say how refreshing it is to see the positivity you bring to highlighting other hobby joggers venturing down the reviewer route. As someone that worked in social media, I know how incredibly competitive and demoralizing it can get. 100% agree with the variety on footwear. I have a client that is an orthopedic doctor, he confirmed that idea to me about a month ago. I wear zero to 4mm drop shoes daily for walking/working, and between 4mm stack and 30mm stack shoes and run in various drops and stacks as well. I did a 5k in vibram toe shoes (2mm sole, 2mm cushion) on a trail hill in the am, then ran in nova blast 4s after work for another 5k on road today.

I picked up the Glideride Max, but I'm really disappointed. I find it's got none of the roll or bounce of the Glideride 3. I just find it very sluggish.

Dang sorry to hear that! I didn't try the old GlideRide but I'm enjoying the new version so far. It's definitely not a speed shoe for me but it has more bounce than I would expect for a max cushion shoe

Perfect review. I literally was planning on trying to find all the reviews online today to compare these two. ASICS felt great this morning. I have a super narrow midfoot and big forefoot so topo and Altra fit me well. I can’t stand a ton of extra fabric in the midfoot which looks like Brooks might have.

Good comparison. Like you said, there's not a lot of info out there on the Glideride Max but previous Gliderides have had a loyal following. The Glycerin Max looks great but I'm going to need to see some info on the EVO SL. I'll probably add something new in the first quarter of 2025 so I have time.

Did you ever run in the Triumph 20/21 before Saucony nerfed it with the 22? I loved that shoe and have been looking for a replacement ever since - I was wondering if the Glideride Max might be it?

Yes I loved the triumph 30! 350 miles on my pair. Glideride max could be solid but I want to do some more high mileage day/long run testing before recommending it for that. Triumph felt more substantial and didn't bottom out at all. I wonder if the plastic plate is giving the sensation of bottoming out or ground feel due to the hard-ish plastic under foot. Saying this because I feel it with the Speed4 . Still love that shoe but I feel the same way with the forefoot

Thank you! And yes the glycerin max are even heavier (about 330g in my size for the brooks vs ~300g for the Nike). The glycerin max is very bouncy and supportive though - it stands up better to weight and time on feet than the Nike

It's one of the widest shoes I've tried this year - it may fit your foot in the standard size. See if you can get into a local running store and try it on

My guy, how would you compare the GlideRide Max to the Novablast? They seem like the same shoe.

Both solid daily trainers/max cushion shoes but very different ride experiences - novablast is firmer, more stable and feels more substantial. Glideride max is softer and bouncier with more of a rocker. The glideride is a lot more fun feeling but the novablast feels more protective

My personal experience as a lighter mid foot runner, both are comfortable and bouncy but the SB2 is a lighter, faster shoe. The Max is pure comfort cruiser.

Out of these two the glycerin max, but I would actually suggest the puma magmax! It has more bounce and is more versatile than the glycerin max. But if you just want the ultimate in comfort the glycerin max will be great

Of these two, there is no comparison in my eyes. I have both and I have run long in both. The Brooks is worth every bit of the $200.00 price tag. The Glideride Max is over priced at $170.00: It should be a $140.00 shoe. It is comfortable but you cannot pick up the pace in the Glideride as you can in the Glycerin Max.
