I somehow feel sorry for the lunch lady😪 I feel like everyone is just making fun of the food and I know that cafeteria food doesn’t have the best reputation but the way the lunch lady talks about her loving to cook something nice for the kids really gets me. She’s so precious🥺

They just need to compare their past school food with this one instead of throwing shades because it didn't match their meal 'standard' That's what Re-Do show purpose right? They say it in the first episode to just feel it again and give a feedback. In the first episode they compare it with their past. Weirdly enough they just throwing "tantrum" this time.

I'm always so shocked, when I see what Americans eat at school. I mean the most is like really unhealthy, even the fruit. Here in Germany you get a real lunch. And usually you have a 75min break.
@scatromommy7894 жыл бұрын
Wow that's awesome our lunch and now my kids lunch is 40 minutes and that includes a recess (time on the playground) it's not enough time to eat especially if you eat the hot lunch and dont bring your own. My so chooses to bring back lunch 1 because the food is gross to him and 2 by the time he gets through the line he has about 5 minutes to eat.
@iignoremyhusband47374 жыл бұрын
Wait you guys get 75 minutes?! When I lived in the US we got like 30 mins max and the line took up 15 minutes so we only had 15 minutes to eat. Now that I’m in Dominican Republic we have an hour and food that you can actually eat
@veda63354 жыл бұрын
@@iignoremyhusband4737 I just realized that we only have 60 minutes. But here in Germany the 'breaks' are much more complicated. I will try to explain it. School here usually starts at 7:30am and continues for older students until about 3:20pm. We always have 2 x 45min lessons (the same subject) and then a 20min break. So twice 20min and then at 12:45pm we have 60min break to eat properly. So in conclusion: school 7:30am-9:05am (includes 5min break), 20min break, school 9:25am-10:55am, 20min break, school 11:15am-12:45pm, 60min break (or another lesson, but usually just a break) and then school again 1:50pm-3:20pm

Ok but that lunch lady was so sweet and thanked them for having her, and all they did was say how much they didn't like the food! :( my little heart can't take the idea of her watching this video and being like "....they hated my food...?" I mean I know it's not her own personal creations or whatever, but still. And imo Lindsay could have at least not skipped the last meal. Seemed snowflakey tbh - she could literally eat whatever she wanted for her other meals :/

Anyone else here from other countries really confused with these lunches or just me?

I'm from Sweden. My school would never feed us something like this. My lunches contains at least 50-70% veggies. My old school didn't even give us fish sticks because there were semi-finished products in them.

Please believe me, we have attempted to get healthier foods into our schools; it's a couple handfuls of republicans who keep screwing with things, because huge pre-prepped food companies use their billions of dollars to lobby to them to get contracts to supply stuff like hot pockets. Instead of giving districts a budget to buy locally available fresh food at bulk prices to *actually cook* with, they have a budget and contract with a huge company to supply pre-made crap, canned fruit and veg, and iceberg lettuce. This means the district "saves money" because they can staff the cafeteria with half the people, for *way* fewer hours. Like, 30 years ago, my elementary school had anywhere from 3-5 staff, most at full-time hours, with a couple of them coming in part-time. The last few schools I *worked at* had 2-4 people staffing the cafeteria, and not one of them had more than 20 hours a week.

@@alva9704 I'm from Portugal and my middle/high school would always provide traditional portuguese food (or atleast food that we were used to having at home). The meal always started with soup, to get our veggies in, and end up with a whole piece of fruit (you could get more than one) or some sort of desert. Pizza was like once a month kinda deal, it was hella special!
@sYn3rgYyYy4 жыл бұрын

Im from Sweden and in Sweden we can free school lunches, even though it's free the food is not bad quality and we always have a sallad bar by the side of the food.. (i also have to add that they're is always hardbread with butter available so if the food isnt your favourite you can still kind of get a full meal with that and many choices from the sallad bar) but tbh... I was SHOOK when i saw how bad Americas school lunches is... it makes me sad that the goverment doesn't care about educating the students about the importance of a healthy and stable diet, in Sweden we get pizza twice a year (if you are lucky) and even though we get pizza they always have a lot of healthy sides or a good alternative for someone who doesn't want pizza.. A STABLE MEAL??!! how can you stay concentrated all day by eating this?? Its has "SUGAR CRASH AND HUNGER IN 2H" writen all over it!!!?? how can the system not care about this???!!! ( I also have to point out that EVERY school has always a vegetarian option if there is meat in the main course, some even has vegetarian AND VEGAN) AND we at least once a week the main course is vegetarian??

huhlucination School lunch obviously varies from school district to school district, since it's impossible for the federal government to supervise 130,000 schools. You also probably never heard of the Let's Move campaign by Michelle Obama. It focused on reducing the obesity rate by advertising a healthier lifestyle that includes activities and healthier food.

The more educated people are, the less they vote Republican. It's a trend since at least the '70s. So since the '70s the Republicans have cut school funding and state University budgets in terms of real dollars.

On pizza days (actual delivered pizza) she always let us know right away if there was extra😊if there was enough we got 3 pieces & weren’t charged extra, they’d be throwing out the extra anyways.
